Back in 2024, the House Judiciary Committee brought these crucial details to light, as reported by Cristina Laila.
- High-ranking CIA officials, including then-CIA Director Gina Haspel, were informed of the Hunter Biden statement prior to its release. The CIA’s Chief Operating Officer, Andrew Makridis, reported that either Haspel or Deputy Director Vaughn Frederick Bishop was informed of its imminent publication. They had the power to pause the process for thorough vetting.
- Some signatories of the statement were active contractors with the CIA at the time of the statement’s publication, including Michael Morell. Despite their claims, these contractors didn’t have access to classified information when they alleged Hunter Biden’s laptop was “Russian disinformation.”
- At least two signatories, Morell and ex-CIA Inspector General David Buckley, were CIA contractors. The CIA refused to declassify a complete list of active contractors. Some signatories also had “Green Card” access to CIA facilities.
