The European Union is set to host Syria’s so-called “Foreign Minister” in Brussels as reports of a horrific genocide against Alawites and Christians by Islamist militias continue to surface. Syrian analyst Kevork Almassian has accused Turkish President Erdogan of orchestrating this atrocity against the Alawite community.

Author Ayaan Hirsi Ali criticized “human rights” organizations and the UN for their silence, pointing out that the persecution of Christians extends beyond Syria to other Muslim-majority countries. “In a way, it’s not shocking because one in seven Christians is subjected to persecution across Muslim-majority countries,” Hirsi Ali said. “Human rights has become a joke now … where are these institutions? And the answer is that all of these institutions have been infiltrated by people who are beholden to the ideology of Islamism. They are the ones who pull the shots,” she said.

Even mainstream outlets like CNN have reported on the mass murders carried out by HTS militias. According to the UN, more than 800 people were killed in sectarian violence, with death toll estimates reaching up to 7,000. Read more

OHCR spokesperson Thameen Al-Kheetan described the horrors, saying many men were executed in front of their families. The extermination seems to be occurring on a sectarian basis, reportedly involving armed groups allegedly linked to security forces.

Meanwhile, Syria’s “foreign minister,” Asaad al-Shibani, is expected at an EU donor summit in Brussels. The HTS terror leader Ahmed al-Sharaa, also known as Abu Mohammad al-Jolani, is not anticipated to attend, according to recent reports.

The EU has been organizing this annual conference, ‘Standing with Syria: Meeting the Needs for a Successful Transition,’ since 2017. Contributions have been pledged by Germany, Switzerland, the UK, and the European Commission, totaling hundreds of millions in humanitarian aid.
