Earlier this week, Democrat lawmakers faced intense questioning about their refusal to applaud President Trump’s speech to Congress. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) offered a response that truly revealed their priorities.
As reported, Democrats displayed disruptive behavior during the President’s address. It was especially evident when they refused to stand for mothers of victims Laken Riley and Jocelyn Nungaray, who suffered tragic fates at the hands of illegal alien criminals.
These Democrats couldn’t even celebrate the courage of a young cancer survivor. When President Trump honored a 13-year-old brain cancer survivor by making him an honorary member of the Secret Service, the Democrats chose to sit in silence instead of joining the applause from their Republican counterparts.
In a bid to understand this classless behavior, “Jesse Watters Primetime” producer Johnny Belisario visited Capitol Hill to ask these lawmakers why they refused to show appreciation during several heartfelt moments of the speech.
Belisario first approached Warren and asked what it would take for her to applaud the President.
Her response was quite revealing:
“I did clap when he said that the United States has supported Ukraine and given them lots of money,” Warren said.
Yet, Warren evaded explaining her decision not to clap for Laken Riley’s mother, whose daughter was brutally killed by an illegal alien last year.
Subsequently, Belisario encountered a disgruntled Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ), who criticized Trump for grocery price issues, conveniently ignoring the Biden administration’s missteps that exacerbated the crisis.
Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) feigned ignorance about her behavior.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” she said.
Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) attempted to divert the conversation by accusing Trump of dishonesty during the address, making one wonder about his grasp on honesty.
“There was nothing the president had to say that was either factual or truthful,” Schiff said.
When Belisario mentioned polls showing Americans’ positive reception of the speech, Schiff remained dismissive.
“I don’t know what speech they were watching,” he responded sarcastically.
Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) was quick to distance herself from Belisario, making a hurried escape to the elevator.
“You need to get away from me,” she instructed.
It’s clear: Democrats reserve their applause for occasions when American taxpayer dollars are spent overseas. Meanwhile, they ignore the bravery of a child facing cancer, a grieving mother advocating for stricter immigration laws, and a thriving economy. For them, Ukraine takes precedence. What a disservice to American values.
