In a shocking development out of Box Elder County, Utah, two prominent figures are now in custody, facing multiple charges related to the heinous crime of child exploitation. Former Tremonton Fire Department Chief Ned Brady Hansen and First District Justice Court Judge Kevin Christensen find themselves embroiled in a scandal that has stunned the community and upended public trust.
Hansen initially found himself entangled with the law back in January on suspicion of child-related sex crimes. His release on bail at the time was facilitated by what many now view as a suspicious decision by Judge Christensen—revealing a dark undercurrent of corruption that has now come to light.
Following new evidence unearthed by the FBI, Hansen was arrested again on March 11, 2025, revealing a grotesque relationship between him and Christensen, which has left many reeling. Christensen, 64, was detained earlier on March 6 and is currently facing six felony charges, including serious accusations such as attempted exploitation of a minor, enticing a minor, and distributing materials harmful to minors, according to The Herald Journal.
Hansen faces even graver accusations, with eight felony counts of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor being levied against him on March 10.
The court documents portray a harrowing narrative of alleged crimes. Utilizing the notorious internet app KIK, Hansen and Christensen are accused of exchanging vile fantasies about the exploitation of children, even boasting about meeting in person to engage in illicit acts with each other.
The charges further allege discussions about targeting children within their own families, a chilling testament to their moral depravity.
FBI Agent Jason Merrill detailed in an affidavit the depraved nature of their communications, which included detailed plans to commit unspeakable acts against society’s most defenseless.
Worse still, in a jaw-dropping revelation, Christensen, acting as the presiding judge in Hansen’s initial case, chose to release the fire chief on bail, ignoring pleas from law enforcement to keep him behind bars. “Despite the request of law enforcement to hold defendant Hansen without bail, Christensen released the defendant from custody on bail,” Agent Merrill stated emphatically.
The judge conveniently omitted mentioning his sordid, sexually charged exchanges with Hansen, a move authorities now describe as an outrageous cover-up.
Additional details from KSL News Radio shed further light on this disturbing saga:
While searching Hansen’s electronic devices, investigators found multiple chats with another person, which was discovered to be Kevin Robert Christensen, 64, a Box Elder County judge.
According to court documents, Hansen and Christensen spoke about how they could sexually abuse children, including extended family members of one of the men.
Eventually, the two discussed meeting up in person and engaged in a sexual relationship, documents stated.
The investigation into Christensen’s activities was subsequently triggered, uncovering the illicit relationship between the two. On Monday, Christensen faced a slew of charges in the 1st District Court, including two counts of enticing a minor using the internet, and several other felonies related to dealing in harmful materials, attempted aggravated sexual exploitation of minors, and obstruction of justice.
