Wynton Hall, author of the New York Times bestselling book Code Red: The Left, the Right, China, and the Race to Control AI, presented five strategic action items for conservatives at Breitbart’s Founders’ Roundtable. The event, titled “The Invisible War – AI, China, and the Battle for Global Control,” took place on Sunday, featuring experts such as Peter Schweizer and Wynton Hall himself.
Hall emphasized the urgency of engaging with AI, stating, “AI is not just a tool. It’s also political power.” He urged attendees to actively participate in this technological arena to prevent the country from sliding into a “totalitarian techno authoritarian surveillance state.”
“AI is not just a tool. It’s also political power.”
The five action items Hall proposed are:
- Learn the basics. “Do not think that you cannot understand AI.”
- Go on offense, not defense. Use AI’s capabilities to address inefficiencies and corruption in government.
- Get the kids ready. Teach children not just to find jobs, but to create them.
- Guard your faith. Be wary of the existential crisis of meaning AI may bring.
- Know the players. Understand who is influencing and funding AI initiatives.
Hall stressed the need for conservatives to take charge and use AI creatively to lead, especially in identifying waste within federal government contracts. He also highlighted the importance of preparing the next generation by fostering entrepreneurship and developing AI tutors with sound pedagogical methods.
“AI’s not going to take your job, but somebody who knows how to use AI will take your job.”
Addressing faith concerns, Hall warned of AI being used in religious contexts, such as AI-driven confessions. He urged individuals to familiarize themselves with key influencers in the AI sector, questioning why organizations like Anthropic have heavily supported Democrats.
Peter Schweizer, president of the Government Accountability Institute, praised Hall’s book, saying it shifted his perspective from pessimistic to cautiously optimistic. He reminded attendees of China’s goal to dominate AI by 2030, a plan rooted in the Chinese Communist Party’s 2017 strategy.
