The View hosts Sunny Hostin and Whoopi Goldberg relatively recommended that Republican members of congress were associated with a wicked plot that required U.S. Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) to pull a smoke alarm in Capitol Hill’s Cannon Building, where a variety of U.S. representatives have workplaces.
Following Saturday’s evacuation of the Cannon Building– which happened just hours before Congress passed a continuing resolution to money the federal government for 40 days– images emerged that showed Bowman pulling a smoke alarm near one of the building’s exit. The far-left congressman quickly admitted to pulling the alarm, claiming that it was an accident.
A variety of Home Republicans have accused him of purposefully pulling the alarm in an effort to delay the vote and require a shutdown, with some calling for his arrest and others requiring his expulsion from Congress.
On Monday, the hosts of ABC’s The View took turns protecting Bowman. Sunny Hostin pressed back on the idea that Bowman deliberately pulled the alarm in an effort to force a shut down. Instead, she relatively suggested that Republican members conspired to force Bowman to pull the alarm.
“I understand Jamal, and so again, I’m a little biased, however the doors that are typically open so that he might get to the chambers to check out were somehow astonishingly closed. How did that take place?” Hostin stated. She went on to compare the incident to being stuck in an elevator and pushing a variety of buttons in a panic.

So, I don’t know,” Goldberg said, later on including that Bowman would have needed to break glass to access the alarm.
