The Democratic Party’s civil war just shifted to battleground territory.

After Democratic Socialists of America-backed challengers toppled longtime Democratic incumbents in New York City and Denver, the far-left movement is now targeting Missouri and Michigan primaries on August 4.

Former Rep. Cori Bush, who lost her St. Louis seat in 2024, posted on social media hours after socialist candidate Melat Kiros ousted 15-term Rep. Diana DeGette in Colorado’s June primary: “On August 4th, St. Louis will do the same.”

“Only socialism can solve decades of capitalist mismanagement in the US. Our newly elected leaders will fight for the working class — not for crumbs.” — Democratic Socialists of America celebrating primary victories

The DSA, Justice Democrats, and Working Families Party have now backed 39 candidates — 20 challengers and 19 incumbents — heading into the 2026 midterms. Three major upset victories in deep-blue districts have emboldened progressives who see a national opening to reshape the Democratic Party from within.

The question: will the message on Medicare-for-all, the Green New Deal, higher taxes on the wealthy, and abolishing ICE resonate in November when Republicans are on the ballot?

The Missouri and Michigan Battlegrounds

Bush is running to reclaim her seat in Missouri’s St. Louis-anchored 1st Congressional District. She lost the seat in 2024 after serving one term.

In Michigan — which also holds its primary August 4 — the DSA is training firepower on multiple races in a state that will help determine control of the House.

One week later, Wisconsin holds its August 11 primary. DSA-backed state Rep. Francesca Hong is rising in a crowded field to succeed retiring Democratic Gov. Tony Evers.

“It’s a great day to be a democratic socialist,” Hong posted on X after the New York City victories. “Wisconsin is next!”

The New York Shockwaves

Three far-left candidates heavily supported by socialist New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani pulled off stunning upsets in the June primary.

Congressional candidates Claire Valdez, Brad Lander and Darializa Avila Chevalier and Mayor Zohran Mamdani raise their hands during a Get Out the Vote rally at King’s Theater on June 18, 2026, in New York City.
Darializa Avila Chevalier, a DSA member also backed by Justice Democrats, ousted incumbent Democratic Rep. Adriano Espaillat, chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, in New York’s 13th District.

The community organizer — who created controversy with past comments and anti-Israel rhetoric — is now the overwhelming favorite in the Democrat-dominated district covering northern Manhattan and the Bronx.

Brad Lander, the former New York City comptroller supported by Mamdani and the Working Families Party, ousted incumbent Democratic Rep. Dan Goldman in the 10th District. Lander is the clear favorite in the deep-blue district covering lower Manhattan and northwestern Brooklyn.

Claire Valdez, a state lawmaker endorsed by the DSA, won the primary to succeed retiring Rep. Nydia Velázquez in a district spanning parts of Brooklyn and Queens. Valdez topped Velázquez-backed Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso.

The Denver Upset That Started It All

Melat Kiros, a 29-year-old attorney and first-time candidate backed by the DSA, Justice Democrats, and Working Families Party, toppled 15-term Democratic Rep. Diana DeGette in Colorado’s June primary.

Democratic congressional candidate Melat Kiros speaks to supporters at an election-night watch party after winning the Colorado primary on June 30, 2026, in Denver, Colorado.
DeGette had represented Denver’s 1st Congressional District for 30 years. Kiros is now on a glide path to Washington in the Democrat-dominated district.

During the primary, Kiros faced scrutiny over past comments suggesting American foreign policy made the 9/11 terror attacks “inevitable.”

The Squad Expands

Among the 19 far-left incumbents seeking re-election, the most visible is Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who burst onto the national stage eight years ago by ousting then-House Democratic Caucus Chairman Joe Crowley.

The four-term progressive from New York City — best known by her acronym AOC — is the most visible member of the Squad. She is backed by the DSA, Justice Democrats, and Working Families Party.

Ocasio-Cortez is eyeing a potential 2028 White House bid or a possible challenge to longtime Democratic Senate Leader Chuck Schumer.

Other Squad members seeking re-election include Reps. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts, and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan — all backed by Justice Democrats and frequently targeted by President Trump.

The California Intra-Party Fights

Several far-left challengers are taking on Democratic incumbents in California’s nonpartisan primary system, where the top two finishers advance regardless of party.

Mai Vang, a Sacramento city councilor backed by Working Families Party and Justice Democrats, slightly edged Democratic Rep. Doris Matsui in the June primary. The two will face off again in November for the solidly blue seat.

Angela Gonzales-Torres, backed by Justice Democrats and Working Families Party, advanced to the general election and is now facing incumbent Democratic Rep. Jimmy Gomez in the Los Angeles-anchored 34th District.

Connie Chan, a San Francisco Board of Supervisors member endorsed by Working Families Party, is running to succeed retiring former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. She’ll face state Sen. Scott Wiener in November in the heavily blue district.

The Swing-District Gambles

Not all far-left candidates are running in safe blue seats. Several Working Families Party-backed candidates are challenging Republicans in swing districts that will determine House control.

Bob Brooks, a retired firefighter handpicked by Democratic Gov. Josh Shapiro, won the May primary in Pennsylvania’s 7th District. He’s challenging incumbent GOP Rep. Ryan Mackenzie in a race among two or three dozen that will decide the House majority.

Randy Villegas, a school board trustee backed by Working Families Party, came in second to Republican Rep. David Valadao in California’s June primary and advanced to the general election in the crucial swing district.

The Controversial Picks

Some far-left nominees carry baggage heading into November.

Adam Hamawy, a plastic surgeon and former U.S. Army combat surgeon backed by Justice Democrats, won the New Jersey primary for the 12th District. Hamawy grabbed national attention in 2024 as part of a volunteer medical team in Gaza unable to leave after Israel closed border crossings during its war with Hamas.

Dr. Adam Hamawy speaks during an interview in Washington, D.C., on June 14, 2024, after meetings at the White House and on Capitol Hill.
During the primary campaign, Hamawy’s past ties to a convicted terrorist who was convicted of seditious conspiracy linked to the 1993 World Trade Center bombing resurfaced, according to Fox News reporting.

Rep. LaMonica McIver, a Working Families Party-backed lawmaker representing northern New Jersey, drew national attention last year when she was among Democrats attempting a congressional oversight visit to an ICE facility in Newark. McIver was later indicted by a grand jury for “forcibly impeding and interfering with federal officers” during the visit. She has disputed the charges as political.

The November Test

The real verdict comes in November when these far-left candidates face Republican opposition and discover whether their message resonates beyond deep-blue primaries.

President Trump and Vice President JD Vance have already issued sharp warnings about the socialist surge within the Democratic Party.

Chief congressional correspondent Chad Pergram reported the Kiros victory in Denver marked the 27th progressive primary victory this cycle — a number that could grow significantly with Missouri, Michigan, and Wisconsin primaries still ahead.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani blamed his predecessor for a city map that erased historically Irish, Italian, and Jewish neighborhoods — while including trendy progressive enclaves like “Little Palestine” and “Little Bhod-Tibet.”

The controversy erupted after Mamdani’s office released an updated immigrant map of the city that somehow omitted Little Italy, Irish communities, and Jewish areas that defined New York for generations.

When confronted at a press conference Friday, Mamdani pointed fingers at former NYC Mayor Eric Adams.

“This map was initially created by the prior administration in 2023, and when we inherited it, we added a few additional neighborhoods. It’s clearly not an exhaustive list of the more than 200 ethnic communities that call our city home, and we’re going to be making additional changes in the future to reflect that.”

Mamdani promised his administration would add Little Italy “in a future update.”

WATCH: Mamdani says the ADAMS administration created the ethnic enclave map that left out Little Italy.

He says his administration will add Little Italy in a future update. pic.twitter.com/LU4YSHf2Dg

— Daily Caller (@DailyCaller) July 10, 2026

Italian-American leaders didn’t buy the excuse.

They called the omission deliberate “cultural erasure” — not an innocent mistake.

“This is not a clerical error. This is cultural erasure,” Italian-American Civil Rights League President Mike Crispi said in a press release Wednesday.

“Little Italy is sacred ground. It is where Italian immigrants came with nothing, worked like hell, opened shops, raised families, built churches, fed the city, and helped make New York what it is.”

Crispi didn’t hold back on the mayor’s priorities.

“Mamdani’s City Hall can find room for every fashionable progressive constituency, but somehow it cannot find Little Italy. Our culture is good enough for their photo ops, our food is good enough for their fundraisers, and our neighborhoods are good enough for tourism dollars — but when it comes time to recognize Italian Americans, they erase us.”

The map included newer progressive-friendly designations while erasing the immigrant communities that actually built New York City.

Mamdani inherited the map from Adams but chose which neighborhoods to add — and Little Italy, Irish enclaves, and Jewish neighborhoods apparently didn’t make the cut.

Sen. Eric Schmitt, R-Mo., warned that a “hammer-and-sickle wave” is taking over the Democratic Party — and what’s happening in New York and Michigan primaries right now is a preview of the 2028 presidential race.

“You get this hammer-and-sickle wave we saw in New York — that is not going to be an isolated incident,” Schmitt told Fox News Digital. “That is a flashing red light. It is a red flag.”

“Their primaries now are going to be dominated by these people who want to go to war with Western civilization. I mean, I’m not making this up, this is what they say they want to do. And so their [2028] presidential primary will be defined by this ideology.”

Several insurgent progressive and far-left candidates have toppled more moderate Democratic incumbents in primary contests during this midterm election cycle.

In New York City, Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s chosen candidates made a clean sweep in June. Two incumbents, Reps. Dan Goldman, D-N.Y., and Adriano Espaillat, D-N.Y., were defeated by progressives with the Mamdani stamp of approval — Brad Lander and Darializa Avila Chevalier, respectively.

In Michigan, one of the most notable far-left candidates is Abdul El-Sayed, who is locked in a messy primary fight with Rep. Haley Stevens, D-Mich., for a Senate seat.

Schmitt contended that Democrats’ position on immigration is driving the party’s hard-left turn.

“I think they’ve just decided that their only chance of being successful electorally is through their immigration policy, and so, they’ve completely dismissed the arguments of Bill Clinton and even Harry Reid,” Schmitt said.

Senate Democrats are now bucking an old policy once championed by former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev. In the 1990s, Reid pushed legislation that would have changed birthright citizenship — just like how Schmitt and other Republicans are doing now after the Supreme Court’s decision upholding birthright citizenship earlier this month.

Schmitt said Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., who was mentored by Reid, is on notice by his own party given how far left the political winds are blowing.

His main political adversary could be one of the poster children of the progressive movement: Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y.

“Chuck Schumer, if he survives to even be minority leader again, you know, next term, there’s just no way he’s not going to have a primary challenge by AOC or somebody else.”

“I mean, I think he’s probably going to chair the ‘AOC for president campaign’ so … she doesn’t run against him, but there’s going to be somebody else,” Schmitt said. “And the money and the energy on the Democrat side right now are these radical leftist communists.”

President Donald Trump and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani delivered dueling visions of America on the eve of Independence Day, with Trump celebrating the nation’s founding principles while the socialist mayor argued America needs fundamental transformation.

Mamdani gave his speech from New York City Hall on July 3, sitting at a desk George Washington once used while surrounded by naturalized immigrants. Trump spoke the same day at Mount Rushmore, where he defended American culture and honored what makes the country great.

The contrast couldn’t be starker.

“We must forget that there is no American freedom without American culture. A constitution is only as strong as the people and the culture responsible for upholding it.”

Mamdani used his platform to divide Americans into ethnic subgroups, rattling off immigrant waves that arrived in New York: “Hundreds of thousands of Irish immigrants arrived with stomachs aching from a famine manufactured by imperial cruelty. Chinese sailors settled in what is today Chinatown. Millions more traveled under the Statue of Liberty and through Ellis Island.”

He criticized the “nativism” these groups faced. To Mamdani, America is a collection of ethnic identities rather than a unified nation.

Trump offered the opposite vision. The founding generations “forged a uniquely American character,” he said, a new people who “did not bow before a king or a government, but kneeled only before Almighty God.”

Mamdani struggled to define what an American is, telling the immigrant crowd surrounding him that “you each hold a special power, the power to determine what America means.”

In Trump’s vision, America already has a fixed identity and culture inherited from the founders and passed through generations.

Both men claimed America is exceptional, but meant radically different things.

“We are told that America is exceptional because we are richer, stronger, more powerful than everyone else,” Mamdani said. “The truth, my friends, is that America is exceptional because here, nothing is fixed into place.”

Trump defended the traditional meaning of American exceptionalism: “For 250 years, the entire world has looked to our country and been inspired by the leaps of progress, feats of strength, and acts of selflessness, faith, and hope that could only have happened right here.”

“Communism is the exact opposite of ‘life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.’ It’s death, tyranny, and the pursuit of evil.”

Trump warned about rising communist sentiment in America, calling it a “resurgence of the communist menace” that threatens American freedom. Communism, he said, is the enemy of everything the founders built.

Mamdani — a self-described democratic socialist who champions Marxist ideology — chose instead to attack the “powerful,” claiming they believe America is “an arena of supremacy, where only a select few are allowed freedom.”

He appeared to take aim at Trump and his supporters without naming them directly: “America, if you ask them, becomes less the more people it welcomes. America, they will tell you, belongs only to those with the right accent or the right shade of skin.”

On the eve of America’s 250th birthday, Trump warned against the communist faction he says wants to destroy and reimagine the country.

Mamdani presented that radical reimagination himself.

Reality TV star and former LA mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt unloaded on New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s July 4th speech, accusing him of using communist tactics to attack American history.

Pratt’s fiery response came after Mamdani marked America’s 250th anniversary of independence by framing patriotism as confronting the nation’s shortcomings rather than celebrating its achievements.

“Communists always start with the bad memories,” Pratt said in a viral post on X.

“We all had to sit and watch that vile commie mayor sit on the wrong side of our Founding Fathers’ desk to try and lecture us about our own history.”

Mamdani delivered his address from the Governor’s Room at New York City Hall on Friday, speaking from George Washington’s ceremonial desk. “Our nation marks 250 years since we declared our independence,” Mamdani said. “America is exceptional because here, nothing is fixed in place.”

The socialist mayor argued that true patriotism requires acknowledging national failures — a framing Pratt sharply rejected.

God Bless America pic.twitter.com/RNwbNIGhCs

— Spencer Pratt (@spencerpratt) July 4, 2026

Pratt accused Mamdani of employing a broader ideological strategy to erode American identity by attacking the nation’s historical foundations.

“The communist must attack your history,” Pratt said. “Why? Because history is what anchors you. It’s what makes us attached to something.”

He compared national history to a family home built through shared experiences and memories.

“If you have no memories to attach you to it, it’s just wood and drywall — who cares? Get rid of it,” Pratt said.

Pratt dismissed Mamdani’s approach as an attempt to reshape national identity by erasing the pride Americans feel in their country’s legacy and sacrifices.

“It’s okay to love America; not only is it okay, it’s necessary.”

The former reality TV star concluded with a forceful defense of American exceptionalism and Independence Day traditions.

“Be proud of your history; show some American pride,” Pratt said. “Raise your plaid, raise your finger, and say, F—k you, communist.”

Mamdani, a self-described democratic socialist, has drawn national attention for positioning himself as a left-wing alternative to President Trump’s vision for America.

American settlers created the United States’ freedom culture, not just the Founders’ words, President Donald Trump declared Friday in a powerful Mount Rushmore speech celebrating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

“There is no American freedom without American culture, and there is no American founding without the American people,” Trump said.

The speech marked a clear break from the progressive “creedal nation” theory pushed by former President Barack Obama and other left-wing politicians who claim America’s freedom culture can be replicated by any diverse migrant population that simply agrees to a few civic principles.

“There is no American freedom without American culture, and there is no American founding without the American people.”

Obama has repeatedly argued that migrants can be absorbed into American society if they accept the themes of the Declaration. New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani, an ethnic Indian Muslim, goes even further — arguing the creed is so broad that migrants can rewrite it entirely.

Trump rejected that vision entirely.

Standing before the granite faces of Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, and Roosevelt, Trump argued the Declaration’s principles could only emerge from the European settlers who built America from scratch.

“The identity of a nation is the destiny of a nation,” Trump said, “and America has a destiny like no other, because we are a people like no other.”

He continued: “Here, the old world sent its bravest, boldest, and most resilient, its fiercest, most faithful, and freedom-loving. These men and women brought values, traditions, and customs transmitted over the centuries in Britain, and stretching back even further to Athens, Jerusalem, and Rome.”

The United States became the greatest civilization in human history, Trump said, because European settlers “forged a uniquely American character, a new breed of citizen.”

“We can never forget that American liberty has not endured for 250 years merely because of words on paper; Liberty has prevailed here because of the culture and character of the people who declared it, defended it, and preserved it.”

Constitutions and creeds cannot survive without the right people to uphold them, Trump warned.

“Many nations have paper constitutions and legal systems, but the citizens live in fear and squalor,” he said. “A constitution is only as strong as the people and the culture responsible for upholding it.”

The argument explains Trump’s push to reduce economic immigration and block migrants hostile to American culture.

Obama, however, has spent years defending the opposite vision — claiming progressives can create a freedom society from diverse immigrant cultures fundamentally different from the European traditions Trump celebrated.

In a 2025 speech, Obama framed mass migration as an “experiment” — and admitted it might be failing.

“There’s never been an experiment like this, where you have people from every corner of the globe show up in one place,” Obama said.

He also conceded that his diversity project has made governing harder: “Bipartisanship worked pretty well in Washington when everybody looked the same. And it was harder to do when people started seeing that, ‘Hey, those folks are now here, too.'”

“Changes in demographics” are a problem, Obama admitted, along with economic and technological trends.

“The country right now is going through sort of a political crisis of the sort that we haven’t seen before,” he said.

Mamdani pushes the creedal theory even further. In a recent speech marking the 250th anniversary, he told an audience of legalized immigrants and illegal migrants: “You each hold a special power, the power to determine what America means.”

But Trump’s Mount Rushmore speech made clear: American freedom isn’t up for reinterpretation by global migrants with no connection to the culture that created it.

Patriots know the truth — a nation’s identity determines its destiny. And Obama’s mass-migration experiment is running out of time.

President Donald Trump delivered a powerful Fourth of July address beneath Mount Rushmore, warning that communism poses the greatest threat to American freedom as the nation celebrates its 250th anniversary.

Speaking Friday night under the towering granite faces of Washington, Jefferson, Roosevelt, and Lincoln, Trump drew a sharp line between patriotism and the resurgent communist ideology he says is taking root on American soil.

“A generation after we fought and won the Cold War against the menace of Communism, there is now a resurgence of the Communist menace in our land.”

The president described the United States as “the most successful, most accomplished, most exceptional nation ever to exist in human history,” but warned that America’s liberty is rare and under attack.

“It is not the norm. It is the exception. It is rare. It is priceless, and it is truly miraculous,” Trump said.

His remarks came hours after New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani gave his own Independence Day address from George Washington’s desk at Federal Hall, offering a competing vision that emphasized economic inequality and corporate power as threats to American freedom.

Trump made clear the ideological stakes.

“You can be a Communist, or you can be a patriot. You cannot be both.”

The president vowed Americans would “vanquish Communism from our shores,” framing the 2026 midterm elections as part of a larger battle against Marxist ideology infiltrating the country.

Trump argued that some newcomers to America embrace ideas “totally opposed to our way of life,” continuing his administration’s effort to tie immigration policy to the defense of American values.

Calling communism an “ideology of mass theft, mass control, mass lies, and mass murder,” Trump presented voters with a binary choice between allegiance to America and allegiance to Marxism.

The Mount Rushmore speech marks a continuation of Trump’s strategy to shift Republican messaging from kitchen-table economics toward cultural and ideological battlegrounds heading into the midterms.

With socialist candidates gaining influence within Democratic politics — including Mamdani’s recent primary victories — Trump is positioning the Republican Party as the sole defender of American freedom against what he describes as a communist resurgence.

The speech sets the tone for Trump’s midterm campaign: America’s 250th anniversary is a moment to choose between the founding principles that made the nation exceptional and the imported ideology that threatens to destroy them.

Washington Examiner columnist Joe Concha slammed former Vice President Kamala Harris for courting socialist leaders as she eyes a potential 2028 presidential run — and called on Republicans to sharpen their messaging ahead of November elections.

“This is all about Kamala kissing the ring of the unofficial leader of the socialist wave taking over the Democrat Party, and getting his blessing,” Concha said on Fox News’s Fox & Friends First Thursday.

The comments come after New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani confirmed Harris reached out to him over the phone.

Concha indicated Harris may be positioning for a 2028 run, but argued that if Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) enters the race, Mamdani’s support will shift to her — “the actual socialist.”

“Kamala will simply be playing a socialist as a candidate on TV to pander to the far Left during the primaries, because that’s where the voters come out and that’s where the energy is,” Concha said.

“SHE WILL SAY OR DO ANYTHING TO WIN THE PRESIDENCY.”

Concha argued Harris would swing hard left during the primaries, then pivot to the center if she secured the nomination — a familiar pattern from her past campaigns.

“I think running a third time will not be a charm for Kamala Harris in the eyes of many Democrats,” Concha said.

He highlighted that a 2028 run would force Harris into two full years of campaigning — exposing her vulnerabilities.

“As we’ve seen, the more people that get to know Kamala Harris, the worse it is for Kamala Harris,” Concha said.

Concha then turned his fire on Republicans.

He said the GOP needs to rethink its strategy for the November elections based on “conditions on the ground.”

Concha noted that under the Trump administration, gas prices are falling and the Dow Jones is up. He contrasted that with the high inflation rate under the Biden administration.

“I THINK REPUBLICANS JUST HAVE TO GO ON THE OFFENSIVE AND SAY, ‘ARE YOU BETTER OFF NOW THAN YOU WERE DURING THE BIDEN YEARS?’ AND I THINK THAT THAT WOULD RESONATE.”

The strategy mirrors Ronald Reagan’s famous 1980 debate question — a line that helped him defeat Jimmy Carter in a landslide.

Republican Bruce Blakeman is drawing a hard line against New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s socialist agenda — and he’s not mincing words.

The Nassau County Executive and GOP gubernatorial candidate told Fox News Digital he won’t work with Mamdani if elected governor. He’ll shut down the mayor’s plans instead.

“First of all, let me be clear. I don’t have to work with Zohran Mamdani. He has to work with me,” Blakeman said.

“When I become governor, I’m not going to let him destroy the fabric of New York City. I’m not going to let him destroy the economy of New York City, and I’m not going to let him make New York unsafe. Those are all things he’s doing right now, and I will stop him.”

Mamdani has pushed city-owned grocery stores, free bus service, and rent freezes since taking office. Progressives praise the proposals. Republicans call them taxpayer-funded expansions of government that crush small business.

Blakeman singled out the city-owned grocery stores as particularly offensive.

“I don’t want to compete with bodega owners and small grocery stores in New York. Government should not be competing with the private sector,” Blakeman said. “Many of these businesses are family-owned businesses, and I don’t want to hurt them.”

He called the proposal “complete nonsense” and argued taxpayers would be forced to foot the bill.

“Somebody’s got to pay for that,” he said. “These are hardworking people. They’ve created the business, and Zohran Mamdani wants to take it away from them because he’s a communist. He doesn’t believe in property rights. He doesn’t believe in capitalism.”

Blakeman is running to unseat Democrat Gov. Kathy Hochul in November. President Donald Trump has endorsed him.

His own agenda centers on cutting taxes, lowering utility costs, and keeping businesses in New York — the opposite of Mamdani’s vision.

Day one as governor, Blakeman pledged, New York will no longer be a sanctuary state.

“I will sign an executive order that we are no longer a sanctuary state,” he said. “I will roll out the biggest middle-class tax cut in the history of New York.”

Under his plan, single filers making $50,000 or less and joint filers making up to $100,000 would pay zero state income tax. He also promised to cut utility rates in half by ending what he called the state’s “green energy scam.”

“She takes money out of their payments every month to invest in science projects that cost billions of dollars,” Blakeman said of Hochul. “That ends on day one when I become governor.”

The comments come as Mamdani’s rise has fueled a broader national debate over far-left policies. Three socialist candidates won races in Tuesday’s New York primaries, adding to the attention surrounding the movement.

Hochul campaign spokesperson Ryan Radulovacki dismissed Blakeman’s proposals, saying he’s “too busy catering to the far-right, embracing January 6 architects, and caving to Donald Trump to fight for them and their families.”

Mamdani’s office did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

The Democratic Party just got hijacked — and party leaders stood by and watched.

Tuesday’s New York primaries weren’t just election results. They were a coming-out party for DINOs — Democrats In Name Only — and the establishment candidates they crushed didn’t see it coming.

New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani backed three jihadi socialists in congressional primaries. All three won. At their victory parties, crowds chanted at House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY): “You’re next! You’re next! You’re next!”

They meant it.

“Our candidates run as Democrats … and when they are in the legislature, they are in the Democratic Party caucus, but we don’t agree with the way the Democratic Party establishment organizes or runs its party apparatus and so we try to build independence.”

That’s the co-chairman of New York’s Democratic Socialists of America explaining the takeover strategy. Use the Democratic Party label to neutralize charges of extremism. Win the primary. Take the seat. Then push hard left once inside.

Mamdani’s three winning candidates — Darializa Avila Chevalier, Claire Valdez, and Brad Lander — are declared socialists. Their platform: abolish police, prisons, borders, and all immigration control. Destroy the United States and Israel. Push for Palestinian statehood, jihad, and communism.

Traditional Democrats gave away their party by pretending socialists were “just a bit further to the left.” Now they’ve learned the hard way: a difference of degree eventually becomes a difference in kind.

Mamdani came out of nowhere last year. He’s already arguably the most powerful Democrat — or DINO — in the country. Jeffries? Schumer? Both have been running from the Left for years, terrified of getting outflanked by AOC or primaried by the DSA.

As an immigrant, Mamdani can’t run for president. But in 2028, his endorsement will be gold. All the momentum is with him. It’s nearly impossible to believe a sensible centrist like Rahm Emanuel could win the Democratic nomination.

Democrats have been appeasing socialists for so long they probably couldn’t fight them off even if they tried. That may help Republicans in the short term — it could crimp Democrat victories in November’s midterms and might make the Democratic presidential nominee unelectable in 2028.

But it’s profoundly bad news for America.

We have a two-party system. Eventually, voters tire of whoever is in power and choose the other side out of boredom and forgetfulness. It would be nice if the other side weren’t made up of revolutionary socialists who think “America is a disgrace.”
