Micah Lasher in the race to replace retiring Rep. Jerry Nadler.

The result marks a stunning rejection of two high-profile Never-Trump figures who tried to leverage national media attention into a House seat.

Lasher narrowly edged out state Rep. Alex Bores in the final tally, according to NBC News. Conway and Schlossberg — despite their political connections and media celebrity — finished well behind the top two.

Conway centered his entire campaign on removing President Donald Trump from office and defeating what he called “Trumpism.”

Conway, co-founder of the Lincoln Project, changed his residence from Maryland to Manhattan and registered as a Democrat just to enter the race. His platform was singularly focused: defeat Trump.

The anti-Trump activist made headlines last year when he wore an “I am Antifa” shirt at a Washington rally and cried on a podcast while discussing the president.

Schlossberg, grandson of President John F. Kennedy, entered the race in November 2025 with endorsements from Nancy Pelosi and his mother, Caroline Kennedy. His platform included abolishing ICE and expanding transgender procedures.

The Kennedy heir sparked controversy with bizarre social media posts, including one where he suggested second lady Usha Vance was “way hotter” than his late grandmother Jackie Kennedy Onassis.

The primary featured heated exchanges. Lasher accused Schlossberg of being on stage only because of nepotism. “I’m on this stage because of nearly two decades in public service,” Lasher said.

“I have made my way here myself,” Schlossberg fired back. “Do not ever invoke my family name to try to denigrate who I am.”

Lasher secured endorsements from Nadler, Gov. Kathy Hochul, Michael Bloomberg, and former Gov. David Paterson. His platform includes “fighting back against Trumpism,” allowing children to undergo transgender surgeries, and climate activism.

Nadler spent years as a constant opponent of Trump, leading both impeachment proceedings and launching sweeping investigations into the president’s campaign and businesses.

Emerson College polling showed Conway’s support came largely from voters 60 and older, while Lasher and Bores drew support across all age groups.
