In a recent episode of the Tudor Dixon Podcast, former President Donald Trump took aim at pharmaceutical companies, urging them to release safety data on COVID-19 vaccines. The call for transparency comes amid a surge of reports concerning vaccine-related side effects, such as myocarditis, blood clots, and heart attacks.

“Pharmaceutical companies have an obligation to be honest,” Trump said. “If they are going to hold back, that means they’re holding back something that’s not good. So it’s good for them to be honest. And people are going to understand it too. That’s exactly what we have to be honest with, and they have to—any information, they have to release it.”

The former President’s comments were made in the context of the Biden administration’s recent announcement about funding a new vaccine. Trump questioned both the timing and the necessity of introducing a new vaccine, especially when comprehensive safety data for the existing vaccines has not been made public.

“They have to be honest with the numbers. The fact is, you know, they have an obligation to be honest, and if they are going to hold back, that means they’re holding back something that’s not good,” Trump reiterated. “So it’s good for them to be honest. And people are going to understand it too.”

The comments come as Trump is gaining strength in the race for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, as well as First Lady Jill Biden testing positive for Covid.

Trump also criticized the current administration for its handling of various issues, including the economy, border security, and what he termed the “weaponization of government.”

“Look at what’s happening to the border, millions and millions of people. Look at what’s happening to our cities. They’re being overrun,” Trump said. “Our country is going to be great again. We’re a laughing stock all over the world.”

On the economic front, Trump expressed his concerns about the rising cost of living, particularly the high prices of school supplies and gas, which he described as significant issues for American families.

“We’re going to drill. You know the expression ‘drill, baby, drill,’ and we’re gonna drill, and we’re going to have so much energy. The prices are going to be tumbling down. That’s going to bring down inflation,” Trump assured. “Energy is what caused the inflation. And we’ll bring the energy down now.”

The former President also took a moment to discuss his views on family-friendly policies, emphasizing the need for common-sense solutions that support American families.

“We’re all for that. I think it’s a great thing. It’s one of the many things that we should be doing. We could be doing many, many things having to do with that issue and having to do with other issues,” Trump said. “We could be doing many, many things, and we’re going to do them. And you know, they’re common-sense things.”
