A man with suspected ties to Antifa has pleaded guilty on Friday to detonating an explosive device filled with nails outside the Alabama Attorney General’s office earlier this year, according to a press release from the Department of Justice.

Kyle Benjamin Douglas Calvert, 26, pleaded guilty in federal court to the malicious use of an explosive device. Calvert detonated the device during the early morning hours of February 24 outside the Alabama Attorney General’s Office in downtown Montgomery.

No injuries were reported as a result of the blast.

When entering the plea, Calvert admitted to constructing the device himself using a collection of household items such as nails and screws to act as shrapnel, as well as accelerants to ignite the explosive. Prosecutors have stated that Calvert filled the device with maximum shrapnel in order to cause the most damage.

The explosion occurred after Calvert lit the fuse and immediately fled the scene. The 6-year-old was ultimately apprehended by law enforcement on April 10.

Calvert had previously expressed support for Antifa and other left-wing extremist groups on social media, the DOJ said. He also endorsed the idea of political violence against the government and placed pro-Antifa stickers near the scene of the crime.

The far-left extremist has claimed that he has no affiliation with the black-bloc militant group Antifa, which has been responsible for several violent attacks and riots in the United States and Europe.

Calvert now faces anywhere between five and 20 years in federal prison. The case was investigated by both the FBI and the ATF.

“Calvert’s offense was a very serious one and today’s plea ensures that he will face significant consequences,” said U.S. Attorney Jonathan S. Ross for the Middle District of Alabama. “Calvert would not have been held accountable had it not been for the thorough and painstaking investigation conducted by federal, state, and local law enforcement agents working together. I am grateful for the efforts of everyone involved.”

Four people have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of Johnny Wactor, a star cast member of “General Hospital,” who was gunned down in May while attempting to prevent a catalytic converter theft, authorities have said.

In a statement released Friday, the Los Angeles Police Department announced that three suspects had been arrested on suspicion of murder. The suspects have been identified as Robert Barceleau, 18; Leonel Guiterrez, 18; and Sergio Estrada, 18. Frank Plano, 22, was also arrested and accused of being an accessory to the killing.

The four men were taken into custody after the the department’s central homicide bureau discovered evidence and later carried out searches of the suspects’ homes, the department announced. Records show that bail was set at $2 million, though it is unclear whether any of the suspects have entered a plea.

Wactor, 37, was fatally shot during the nighttime hours of May 24 in Los Angeles. He had just finished a bartending shift in the city’s downtown section when he encountered three men who had raised the actor’s car with a floor jack and were attempting to steal the catalytic converter.

One of the thieves then shot Wactor without provocation, the department announced.

The men fled in a a dark sedan and Wactor was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, authorities announced at the time.

On August 5, police provided an update on the case and asked the public for help with identifying the suspects. They also released images of the getaway vehicle.

A South Carolina native, Wactor starred as Brando Corbin on “General Hospital” from 2019 through 2022. He also appeared in a variety of films and television series, including “Station 19,” “NCIS” and “Westworld,” as well as a voice acting role in the video game “Call of Duty: Vanguard.”

Security forces at Joint Base San Antonio were forced to exchange fire with multiple “active shooters” early Saturday morning when they attempted to gain entry near the main gate outside the JBSA-Chapman Training Annex, officials have announced.

According to base officials, a suspect in a dark sedan was seen passing by the main gate of the training facility when they began shooting towards the gate around 4:30 a.m. on Saturday. The suspect then attempted to fire again, at which point gate security personnel returned fire.

JBSA officials are classifying the incident as an “off-base shooting incident since it occurred near the entrance to the training annex, which is located roughly three miles from the JBSA-Lackland base. 

Investigators have announced that there is no active threat to the base at this time. The shooters are not known to have any military connections, base officials announced in a press release.

No injuries were reported as a result of the shooting.

The gate to the training annex was initially closed on Saturday morning as investigators combed the area. It was eventually reopened around 10 a.m. later that day.

JBSA officials have identified the suspects as “active shooters” but are no longer classifying the attack as an ongoing active shooter incident.

Additional details on the suspect’s identities or motives have not been disclosed as of this report.

One of the people arrested in connection with a brutal attack that has left a Ferguson, Missouri police officer “fighting for his life” has been identified as an alternate delegate to the Democratic National Convention, the Missouri Democratic Party confirmed Wednesday.

Investigators have released two graphic videos  of the violent incident that took place during a protest in support of Michael Brown — who was shot and killed after attacking a police officer in 2014 — that took place last Friday. The protest was meant to honor the 10-year anniversary of Brown’s death, which spawned race riots despite the fact that evidence confirmed Brown attacked the officer.

The new videos, taken from two different angles, show Ferguson Police Officer Travis Brown apparently being hit by 28-year-old suspect Elijah Gantt on a sidewalk outside a police station after protesters attempted to pull down a perimeter fence. Police say Brown is now “fighting for his life” after being critically injured in the attack.

The newly released footage, which was taken from a nearby CCTV camera and an officer-worn body camera, was played at a news conference on Tuesday. It shows the suspect running down the officer, who proceeded to hit his head on the pavement as he fell. Officer Brown was knocked unconscious and was laying on his back before other officers responded to assist.

Authorities announced that Brown suffered a severe brain injury as a result of the attack.

“I think it’s a clear indication that my officer was charged and was hit violently by this individual,” Police Chief Troy Doyle said Tuesday. “If you look at the video, the officer is standing up, waiting to catch this guy. This guy tackled my guy like he’s a football player.”

Keith Rose, a St. Louis alternate delegate to the DNC and a member of the City of St. Louis’ Civilian Oversight Board, which reviews allegations of police misconduct, is one of several additional people facing charges in connection with the attack. He is being charged with first degree property damage after allegedly participating in efforts to tear down the fence and is currently free on $500 bond.

He has since withdrawn as a delegate for next week’s convention.

In a statement to the St. Louis Dispatch, Rose declared his innocence and vowed to fight the charges. “I am highly confident that the charge against me will be dropped once the prosecution reviews all of the evidence, but if not, I am prepared to defend myself against this accusation,” he said.

Police in Washington D.C. arrested a Texas woman who allegedly traveled to Washington D.C. with a loaded firearm and made threats against former President Donald Trump.

The woman, Christina Montoya, was arrested after traveling to the nation’s capital. Law enforcement was first alerted to her threats by the Secret Service, according to a statement from the D.C. Metropolitan Police.

“Through the detectives’ investigation, 41-year-old Christina Montoya of San Antonio, Texas, was arrested and charged with carrying a pistol without a license, possession of an unregistered firearm, and threats against a former president,” police said in a statement.

Investigators said threats against the former president started on July 20. Police were able to locate the woman’s vehicle and found a Smith & Wesson M&P Shield pistol, a magazine and a gun lock after conducting a search, according to the police report.

The incident comes just weeks after Trump came millimeters away from assassination during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

In the weeks following the shooting, the Secret Service has been under intense scrutiny due to apparent security failures before and during the Pennsylvania rally. The Secret Service was aware of would-be Trump assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks at least 90 minutes before the shooting, though the rooftop from which he fired was ultimately left uncovered.

Former Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle ultimately resigned after several Republican and Democrat lawmakers called for removal.

The Secret Serice has urged Trump not to hold any more outdoor rallies in the wake of the shooting, though the former president has refused. Trump recently announced plans to return to Butler for another rally in the near future.

New police bodycam footage of a fatal officer-involved shooting just outside the Republican National Convention perimeter in Milwaukee has been released.

Footage shows a group of police officers discussing how to handle clashing groups of protesters throughout the week when one of them notices that two men were fighting in the middle of the street. “He’s got a knife,” one of the officers can be heard saying, at which point several officers converged on the fight.

Multiple officers yelled “drop the knife” while at least one identified themselves as officers. One of the men– who has been identified as Samuel Sharpe — was holding a knife in each of his hands. When he charged at the other man, police opened fire.

Sharpe’s family stated that he chose to live in a tent community, though he still kept in touch with them. In recent days, the 43-year-old had told his family that a man had been threatening him. He had left the tent community, though he had returned to get his dog.

Sharpe’s brother told FOX 6 that the deceased had multiple sclerosis and struggled to stand. He does not believe that his brother was the aggressor in Tuesday’s fatal encounter.

“I believe my brother was defending himself. If anything he was defending himself,” he said. “If you’ve ever seen someone with advanced MS, it’s very laborious to walk, anything like that. It’s like putting a child against an adult. A toddler that barely knows how to walk. He ain’t going to get away. The man that was in that video knew all of that information as well.”

The officers involved in the shooting were in from Columbus, Ohio in order to assist with convention security.

Sharpe’s death prompted protests in Milwaukee, Police Chief Jeffrey Norman told Fox 6.

The Pennsylvania State Capitol complex was evacuated on Saturday after more than 250 people, including every member of the Pennsylvania House and Senate, received a bomb threat.

Lawmakers and other Pennsylvania government officials and staff received an email titled “my manifesto” shortly after 5:45 p.m. on Saturday. The threatening email stated that “highly lethal” explosive devices had been placed in and around the Pennsylvania State Capitol and Pennsylvania Judicial Center “in the name of Palestine.”

The sender vowed to set off devices every hour unless President Biden went on national television and cut off all aid and support for Israel.

“I plan on triggering one device every few hours until Joe Biden goes on national television and publicly denounces the illegitimate state of Israel,” the email said. “Keep in mind, I am inside one of the two buildings armed w/ a knife, and plan on remaining here to my dying breath!”

Michelle Richwine, a special assistant at the Office of Chief Clerk for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, alerted all Capitol employees to the threat in an email. “Attention House Members and Staff – Vacate the Capitol Complex immediately. Do not reenter until cleared by Capitol Police.”

A handful of staffers who had gathered outside the complex told Penn Live that there were very few people inside when the evacuation order was given around 6:15 p.m.

President Biden is scheduled to make an appearance at a local business in Harrisburg on Sunday.

One lawmaker reported that police were still conducting sweeps of the complex as of 9:45 p.m. on Saturday. Law enforcement personnel could be seen using K-9 units in order to search for potential explosive devices.

The communications director for the Pennsylvania Department of General services issued a statement to WGAL as the search was ongoing.

“On Saturday, the Pennsylvania Capitol Police evacuated the Pennsylvania Capitol Complex and Judicial Center after a bomb threat was emailed to all members of the House of Representatives and Senate. The Capitol Police immediately worked with House and Senate security, as well as the Office of the PA Courts, to issue an immediate evacuation notice to those in the buildings,” they said.

“Capitol Police did not find any explosives during a K9 search of the perimeter of the Capitol Complex. Capitol Police and the FBI are still actively conducting a comprehensive search and investigation in coordination with the Pennsylvania State Police, House and Senate security, and the Dauphin County Sheriff’s office to ensure the safety of the area.”

U.S. Rep. Summer Lee (D-PA) gave a dismissive response when asked about the murder of Jocelyn Nungaray, a 12-year-old girl from Houston who was tortured, raped and murdered by two illegal aliens last week.

“Can I ask you quickly about the 12-year-old girl in Houston who was tortured -,” a Fox News reporter began before being cut off by Lee. “Oh I’m sorry, I don’t talk to strangers,” Lee said while sticking her hand in the reporter’s face. “I don’t even know who you are and I don’t know who see is. I live in Pittsburgh.”

The reporter then attempted to explain the story to Lee, who once again cut her off. “I’m from Pittsburgh, I don’t know anything about it,” the far-left lawmaker said with a smirk before entering her office.

Johan Jose Rangel Martinez, 21, and Franklin Jose Pena Ramos, 26, have been arrested and charged in connection with the rape and murder of Nungaray. Both men are illegal aliens who reportedly met while traveling to the United States from Venezuela, Fox Houston reported.

Bail for Martinez was set at $10 million after prosecutors deemed him to be a flight risk. He still had marks on him left by Nungaray during the June 16 attack, authorities said.

The 12-year-old’s body was found half naked with marks on her neck, and scrapes on her backside consistent with being dragged, prosecutors said. Authorities believe that the girl attempted to fight back during the abduction.

Ramos told authorities that he attempted to get Martinez to stop, but he allegedly refused and climbed on top of the girl and strangled her, according to Harris County prosecutor Megan Long. After Martinez murdered the child, he suggested placing the body in the water to remove DNA evidence, Ramos alleged.

“It’s especially difficult when it’s a loss of a 12-year-old child who had their whole life ahead of them. So, this will be an emotional case for us as prosecutors as well as the family,” Long said.

Martinez allegedly told investigators that he tied Jocelyn’s legs and instructed Pena to throw her in the bayou.

After the murder, Ramos allegedly told his boss at his construction job that he and Martinez were out partying the night before and that somebody had ended up dead. He then asked for money so they could leave town, authorities said.

Ramos, who entered the U.S. illegally a month before the murder, appeared in court on Monday where he was also given a $10 million bail amount. Both men are charged with capital murder, Fox News reported.
