New police bodycam footage of a fatal officer-involved shooting just outside the Republican National Convention perimeter in Milwaukee has been released.

Footage shows a group of police officers discussing how to handle clashing groups of protesters throughout the week when one of them notices that two men were fighting in the middle of the street. “He’s got a knife,” one of the officers can be heard saying, at which point several officers converged on the fight.

Multiple officers yelled “drop the knife” while at least one identified themselves as officers. One of the men– who has been identified as Samuel Sharpe — was holding a knife in each of his hands. When he charged at the other man, police opened fire.

Sharpe’s family stated that he chose to live in a tent community, though he still kept in touch with them. In recent days, the 43-year-old had told his family that a man had been threatening him. He had left the tent community, though he had returned to get his dog.

Sharpe’s brother told FOX 6 that the deceased had multiple sclerosis and struggled to stand. He does not believe that his brother was the aggressor in Tuesday’s fatal encounter.

“I believe my brother was defending himself. If anything he was defending himself,” he said. “If you’ve ever seen someone with advanced MS, it’s very laborious to walk, anything like that. It’s like putting a child against an adult. A toddler that barely knows how to walk. He ain’t going to get away. The man that was in that video knew all of that information as well.”

The officers involved in the shooting were in from Columbus, Ohio in order to assist with convention security.

Sharpe’s death prompted protests in Milwaukee, Police Chief Jeffrey Norman told Fox 6.

Backstage footage has emerged of the moment before former President Donald Trump took the stage at the Republican National Convention on Thursday night.

Trump arrived in the arena shortly after 8 p.m. Eastern Time on Thursday and proceeded to listen to a number of speeches, including a very popular speech from wrestling legend Hulk Hogan. Trump appeared to love Hogan’s speech, which was done in his signature raspy, intense voice and included a number of his signature lines.

The former president could be seen beaming ear-to-ear when Hogan ripped off both his jacket and shirt to reveal a Trump-Vance 2024 undershirt.

Ahead of Trump’s historic entrance, New York Times photographer Doug Mills snapped a photo of the former president and former First Lady Melania Trump. Another reporter captured Trump standing behind the stage prior to his entrance, which was made after the stage design lifted to reveal the former president standing in front of the word “TRUMP” in bright lights.

As Trump took the stage, he drew attention to the fire gear of slain fire chief Corey Comperatore, who was killed in the assassination attempt in western Pennsylvania this past Saturday.

Trump proceeded to deliver a touching tribute to Comperatore during his speech, describing him as a hero. At one point, he left the podium before walking over to the slain firefighter’s gear before proceeding to kiss it. The former president also led the convention crowd in a moment of silence for Comperatore.

I I began speaking very strongly, powerfully, and happily, because I was discussing the great job my administration did on immigration at the southern border,” the former president explained.

Several angles of the shooting have revealed that the former president turned his head at exactly the right moment in order to avoid the assassin’s bullet.

I immediately knew it was very serious, that we were under attack. And in one movement, proceeded to drop to the ground,” Trump recounted.

“Bullets were continuing to fly as very brave Secret Service agents rushed to the stage, and they really did. and they really did. They rushed to the stage,” he continued, prompting the crowd to rise in honor of the agents who evacuated the former president.

Trump went on to state his belief that he was only saved through divine intervention.

“I’m not supposed to be here tonight. Not supposed to be here,” Trump said. The crowd then replied with shouts of “no” and erupted into chants of “yes you are!”

“Thank you. But I’m not,” the former president replied.

Former President Donald Trump made an emotional entrance to the Republican National Convention on Thursday.

After a speech from UFC President Dana White and a performance from Kid Rock, the event once again took on a more somber tone as Trump was introduced by Lee Greenwood and a live rendition of his signature entrance song, “God Bless The USA.”

As Greenwood started performing, the stage design lifted up to reveal the former president already standing on stage. Sporting a white bandage on his ear, the former president paced the stage for a number of minutes before taking the podium in front of a White House backdrop.

Also on stage was the fire gear of retired firefighter Corey Comperatore, a father of two who was killed when a gunman opened fire at the rally. Comperatore died while shielding his family from gunfire.

Thursday night’s featured RNC address marked the first time former President Trump has delivered a public speech since he was nearly killed in an assassination attempt during a rally in western Pennsylvania on July 13. The former president narrowly avoided being killed when he turned his head at the last second to take a look at a chart, causing the bullet to graze his ear.

He was released from the hospital just hours later and opted to continue with the Republican National Convention without delay.

On Monday, the former president made an emotional entrance to the convention in what was his first public appearance since the attempt on his life. Trump took on a more somber look as opposed to his generally energetic self as he entered the arena to cheers and chants of “we love Trump” and “fight, fight, fight” from the crowd.

He then made an emotional walk to his seats to a live rendition of Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless The USA,” frequently pausing to pump his fist and acknowledge the crowd.

Trump made his appearance on Thursday not long after former First Lady Melania Trump received a standing ovation from the crowd during her own entrance.

“I am thinking of you, now, my fellow Americans,” the former first lady wrote in a press release after her husband was shot.

“We have always been a unique union. America, the fabric of our gentle nation is tattered, but our courage and common sense must ascend and bring us back together as one. When I watched that violent bullet strike my husband, Donald, I realized my life, and Barron’s life, were on the brink of devastating change,” the statement continued. “I am grateful to the brave secret service agents and law enforcement officials who risked their own lives to protect my husband. To the families of the innocent victims who are now suffering from this heinous act, I humbly offer my sincerest sympathy. Your need to summon your inner strength for such a terrible reason saddens me.”

Wrestling icon Hulk Hogan received a hero’s welcome at the Republican National Convention on Thursday night.

After taking the stage following a montage complete with his signature intro song, “Real American,” the crowd erupted into loud cheers and chants of “USA!”

Hogan then channeled his signature wrestling voice and dished out his iconic quote, beginning his speech with, “LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING, BROTHER!”

“Well, let me tell you something, when I came here tonight, there was so much energy in this room, I felt maybe I was in Madison Square Garden getting ready to win another world title. Or maybe I thought the vibe was so intense, the energy was so crazy, it felt like maybe I was going to press that no-good, stinky giant over my head and slam him through the mat, brother,” Hogan told the crowd.

“But what I found out was I was in a room full of real Americans, brother. And at the end of the day, with our leader up there, my hero, that gladiator, we’re going to bring America back together, one real American at a time, to bring America back together, one real American at a time,” the wrestling icon continued while pointing to former President Trump.

He went on to reference the assassination attempt on the former president. “But what happened last week, when they took a shot at my hero and they tried to kill the next president of the United States, enough was enough, and I said let Trumpomania, make America great again!”

The wrestling icon then proceeded to rip off both his jacket and shirt to reveal a red “Trump-Vance 2024” undershirt.

In an interview with Fox News earlier in the day, Hogan explained why he decided to speak at the convention. “I got tired of remaining silent. You know, I just sat back and watch the borders collapse. I watch the economy collapse you know, I watch the price of gas the price of food everything just do a upside down flip,” Hogan told host Bret Baier. “And when they took a shot at my hero Donald Trump, I realized that I couldn’t be silent anymore.”

“It rattled me to my core when this happened. And when I saw him stand up, with the blood on his face as a warrior, as a leader, I realized that’s what America needs.”

Top-rated conservative journalist Tucker Carlson received a standing ovation when he speak on the final night of the 2024 Republican National Convention on Thursday.

Carlson began with a shoutout to former Trump advisor Peter Navarro, who addressed the convention on Wednesday after he was released from a four-month stint in federal prison for refusing to comply with the January 6 Committee, which defied congressional rules by refusing to allow House Republicans to appoint representatives.

“When he stood up after being shot in the face, bloodied, and put his hand up. I thought at that moment that was a transformation this was no longer a man. Well, I think that I think it was divine intervention but the effect that it had on Donald Trump, he was no longer just a political party’s nominee, or a former president, or a future president. This was the leader of a nation. And I think there’s a difference.”

After a jab at President Biden’s highly questionable election, Carlson went on to describe former President Trump as the most caring politician he has met after a lifetime of covering Washington D.C.

“His courage gave them heart. A leader’s courage gives courage to his people period. And the second thing I noticed which I don’t think anyone has remarked upon in public but I’m just going to since I’m on the script like why not. Is that he turned down the most obvious opportunity in politics to inflame the nation after being shot,” Carlson told the crowd.

“To inflame the nation, which is an opportunity that almost every other politician I’ve ever met and certainly his opponents would have taken instantly. And they would have said, well, what is this? How did he get shot? Like, how did this happen? And those are real questions that we have to get to the bottom of. But in the moments, the days, the week after the shooting, he did not say that. He did his best to bring the country together.”

In reference to the mainstream media and Democrat Party’s coverage of the former president, Carlson remarked, “this is the divisive figure, this is the irresponsible person?”

“No. This is the most responsible unifying behavior of a leader I think I’ve ever seen.”

Five days after the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump, the motive behind the attack remains unknown. The U.S. Secret Service has been under the microscope for its handling of security at the event. House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) announced today that whistleblowers have come forward, revealing significant security lapses at Trump’s campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

According to the whistleblowers, the Secret Service was stretched thin due to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit and First Lady Jill Biden’s event in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, resulting in inadequate resources for Trump’s event.

These agencies reportedly missed several vulnerabilities before and during the rally, which allowed the assassin to shoot the former president, kill an attendee, and critically injure two others. Jordan sent a letter to Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Christopher Wray, demanding that he be fully prepared to address the Committee’s questions about the attempted assassination and the FBI’s investigation during his upcoming testimony on Wednesday, July 24.

The letter, addressed to Director Wray, stated, “Information provided to this Committee raises serious questions about the thoroughness of the security planning by local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies in support of President Trump’s campaign rally. Law enforcement overlooked a number of vulnerabilities prior to and during the event in Butler, Pennsylvania, allowing an assassin to shoot a President, murder an attendee, and critically wound two others. Jordan’s letter lists several critical questions for Wray to answer. These include the number of FBI personnel dedicated to the investigation, coordination with other agencies, the security of buildings around the event, and specific timelines regarding the shooter’s identification and the police response.

Additional questions focus on the FBI’s evaluation of the shooter’s activities, the scope of the investigation, resource constraints due to other events, communication breakdowns between law enforcement entities, and the actions taken by the Secret Service to protect Trump once the threat was known. The Committee gave Wray until July 23 to provide the requested materials.

Tensions within both parties have escalated as the race to election days draws near. White House Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle faced a tough confrontation with Republican senators at the RNC in Milwaukee on Wednesday night. Senators Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) and John Barrasso (R-WY) demanded answers regarding the agency’s failure to prevent an attempted assassination of Trump. The senators accused Cheatle of “stonewalling” and insist that she owed answers to the public and Trump.
