Lakelin Lemmings is heading into her second CMA Fest this week with a guitar in one hand and her faith in the other. The 20-year-old West Tennessee native isn’t just another aspiring country artist — she’s the youngest on Quartz Hill Music Group’s roster, and she’s already turning heads.

Her single “Get Around Boy” landed on the prestigious “Top 5 Most Added” list in April.

But Lemmings isn’t chasing radio spins alone. She’s chasing something bigger.

“I REMEMBER I FELT THE CALLING BY GOD TO PURSUE THIS.”

Her father toured in a band, and when Lakelin wanted in, he connected her with Ash Bowers — the former lead singer of his band who became a hit songwriter for Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, and Dustin Lynch before moving into management. Bowers signed her at 19 as executive vice president for Quartz Hill Music Group.

Lemmings’ new track “Life of Mine” echoes the melody of the beloved hymn “This Little Light of Mine.” It’s deliberate.

“There are so many drinking songs and cheating songs and all this kind of stuff, and some of them are great, but I feel like there was a need for just positive, good country music,” Lemmings told The Daily Wire.

She’s putting out an album this summer. Her track “American Dreamin” drops later in June, focusing on the things that shaped her in small-town Tennessee: family, faith, and country music.

“I’M NOT A COUNTRY CHRISTIAN ARTIST, I’M JUST A COUNTRY ARTIST THAT’S CHRISTIAN.”

CMA Fest holds special meaning for Lemmings. She grew up attending the free Riverfront Stage shows. In 2023, she saved up money to see it at Nissan Stadium as a fan. Now she’s performing at the premier Nashville country festival as an artist.

“It’s a way to connect with fans,” she said.

Lainey Wilson and Ella Langley both played small stages for even smaller crowds not long ago. Lemmings knows their rapid rise wasn’t luck — it was work.

“I think for me that goes to show that I need to buckle up because it can happen quicker than you think,” she said.

Her self-titled album drops in July.

A New Jersey Democrat running for Congress admitted she stopped attending church after President Donald Trump’s 2016 election — because she couldn’t stand sitting near people who voted for him.

Rebecca Bennett, the Democratic nominee for New Jersey’s Seventh Congressional District, made the stunning admission at a February campaign event. Audio obtained by The Washington Free Beacon caught the former Navy pilot explaining her decision to leave her Presbyterian church.

“I cannot sit in this church full of people who voted for Trump.”

The confession came during a Q&A session with supporters. A woman who identified herself as “a former progressive Dem, now a moderate” asked Bennett about using the word “patriot” in her campaign messaging — worried others might hear it as “right-coded.”

Bennett doubled down on the term, then launched into her church story.

“I grew up in the Presbyterian Church, and after Trump got elected, I stopped going to church for the first time in my life,” Bennett said. “At the time, I was stationed somewhere that was pretty conservative. I was still in the military at the time. I was like, ‘I cannot sit in this church full of people who voted for Trump.'”

She eventually returned to church — but only after deciding Trump voters don’t get to “decide what Christianity looks like.”

Bennett then escalated her rhetoric dramatically, claiming Trump supporters are “literally murdering Americans in broad daylight.”

“They do not get to decide what patriotism is,” she added. “You do not get to wrap yourself in the flag while you are literally murdering Americans in broad daylight.”

The audio reveals a Democratic candidate who couldn’t share a pew with voters whose political views differed from hers — and now frames those same Americans as murderers.

Bennett is seeking to represent New Jersey’s Seventh Congressional District in the U.S. House.
