Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is backing a new congressional resolution that calls for phasing out U.S. military aid to Israel and replacing it with a joint strategic partnership between the longtime allies.

The resolution, introduced Wednesday by Rep. Marlin Stutzman (R-IN) after a meeting with Netanyahu in Jerusalem last week, calls for ending the current military aid framework and replacing it with expanded cooperation on defense technology, intelligence sharing, weapons development, and strategic planning.

“The time has now arrived for us to move from aid recipient to partner.”

Israel receives roughly $3.8 billion annually in U.S. military aid under a long-standing memorandum of understanding between the two countries. Most of that funding must be spent on American-made military equipment and defense systems.

Stutzman said the resolution would mark “a new era” in the U.S.-Israel alliance.

“This resolution affirms that the United States stands with Israel not out of obligation, but out of shared strength and shared strategic interest,” Stutzman said. “Israel has come of age where our nations should contribute equally and share results equally.”

Supporters of the move argue the current aid structure no longer reflects Israel’s military and economic strength, noting that Israel is now one of the world’s top arms exporters and spends a larger share of its GDP on defense than nearly every NATO ally.

Even U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, a decades-long supporter of Israel, suggested this week that the future of the relationship lies beyond traditional aid.

“Israel receives $3.8 billion but spends far more than that buying U.S. military goods,” Huckabee wrote on X. “U.S. also receives intel, tech innovations so that ROI is many times more.”

Israeli leaders have increasingly argued that dependence on foreign weapons shipments creates vulnerabilities during wartime. Those concerns intensified after the Biden administration temporarily halted a shipment of heavy bombs and threatened to withhold offensive weapons if Israel launched an assault on Rafah.

“At a certain stage, we simply didn’t have enough ammunition and people fell, heroes fell. Part of that shortage of ammunition was the result of an embargo.”

Netanyahu recently blamed the embargo for the death of soldiers because of the lack of ammunition. It wasn’t until Trump took office that all of the weapons were shipped.

During Operation Protective Edge in 2014, the Obama administration suspended a shipment of Hellfire missiles and increased oversight of weapons transfers.

Retired Israeli Brigadier General Amir Avivi told The Daily Wire that episodes like those convinced many Israeli defense officials that the country needed greater manufacturing independence.

“This really shook the Israeli defense establishment and an understanding that you cannot really rely, during a moment of truth, on getting what we need,” Avivi said.

Under the military aid agreement negotiated during the Obama administration, the percentage of U.S. aid that Israel can spend on its own defense industry has steadily declined — from 25% to just 11% this year — and is scheduled to reach zero by 2028.

When unveiling his $108 billion, decade-long plan to build an independent Israeli munitions industry, Netanyahu emphasized the goal to “reduce our dependence on all players, including friends.”

Israel is already one of the world’s leading arms exporters, generating roughly $19 billion in weapons sales in 2025, but it remains dependent on foreign suppliers for key munitions and military equipment.

Advocates of the transition also contend that ending aid would strengthen political support for the alliance in the United States.

“In the United States, some — such as Tucker Carlson — use the aid to attack Israel,” Avivi said. “They ask why American taxpayers are funding Israel and its wars. Israel wants to remove this argument entirely and say: ‘We don’t want aid.'”

Lawyer and Israeli activist Ran Bar-Yoshafat, a reservist combat special forces officer, told The Daily Wire that ending aid would reduce both political friction and foreign leverage over Israeli military operations.

“The use of force is constrained according to American preferences,” Bar-Yoshafat said. “The Americans, depending on the administration and military establishment, routinely dictate what weapons we can use and where in the field.”

Federal prosecutors allege the Southern Poverty Law Center — America’s most prominent anti-hate organization — literally funded Ku Klux Klan robes, lumber, and gasoline so the Klan could burn crosses.

A superseding indictment filed Tuesday in federal court lays out the explosive claim in court documents now public record.

“THE SPLC, WHICH PRESENTS ITSELF AS AMERICA’S FOREMOST ANTI-HATE ORGANIZATION, QUITE LITERALLY FUNDED KLAN ROBES, AND ALSO PAID FOR LUMBER AND GAS SO THE KLAN COULD MAKE CROSSES AND BURN THEM.”

In the indictment, people labeled with the letter F and a number are members of extremist organizations allegedly funded by the SPLC. F-31 and F-32 are alleged Klan members whose robes and cross-burning supplies were paid for with SPLC donor money.

DOJ indictment alleges SPLC funded Klan activity

The SPLC has been generously supported by leftist donors including George Soros and George Clooney, according to earlier reporting.

If prosecutors prove these allegations in court with convincing evidence, those celebrity donors were paying for Klan robes and cross-burnings.

The SPLC has due process rights and is entitled to the presumption of innocence. But the detailed allegations in the new indictment — naming specific Klan members, specific materials purchased, and specific donor funds used — paint a stunning picture of the organization’s activities.

The full indictment is available in federal court records. The case continues.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass is cruising toward reelection despite being caught out of the country while wildfires burned 7 percent of her city — with a fire department she’d defunded.

California’s just-concluded primary elections show Democrats sweeping races across the state, even as Los Angeles descends into what federal prosecutors are calling an “endless” corruption scandal involving homeless services and child prostitution.

“On Election Night, we will have a good picture of the outcome of most contests, but it will take weeks to know the final results. This is normal.”

That’s California Secretary of State Shirley Weber announcing — the day after the election — that the state has counted just over half the expected ballots in a race with under 25 percent turnout. Final results won’t be known for weeks, Weber said.

Bass faced reporters after stepping off a plane from another continent while her city burned. She gave them unbroken catatonic silence when asked if she owed citizens an apology.

‘Do you owe citizens an apology for being absent whilst their homes were burning?

She’s now advancing to the general election by a comfortable margin. Democrat Socialists of America candidate Nithya Raman finished third with around 20 percent, after calling second-place finisher Spencer Pratt an “evil MAGA candidate.”

Skid Row keeps expanding. Firefighters at one mid-city station told reporters they go through six to ten doses of Narcan on a normal shift reviving overdose victims near MacArthur Park.

Federal prosecutors are finding a “constant flood” of corruption cases arising from Los Angeles homeless services. The New York Times allowed itself to notice an “endless child prostitution scandal” recruiting from the county foster care system.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna — known for announcing how much he “hates the mean racists at ICE” — appears set to advance to the general election by a comfortable margin, despite his department collapsing into “self dispatch” when the dispatch system fails.

The radically understaffed department is mandating massive blocks of overtime for deputies. The family of murdered Deputy Ryan Clinkunbroomer sued the county, claiming their son was too fatigued to defend himself against his killer.

State Senator Scott Wiener — who spent his career protecting sex offenders who target minors and bragging that “sexually active 12-year-olds in California can get their STD medications and abortions without mommy and daddy finding out” — is likely to win Nancy Pelosi’s House seat.

State legislator Corey Jackson — author of California’s “anti-book ban” bill guaranteeing children in public schools a right to sexually explicit materials — is comfortably above 50 percent in his primary.

Republicans are taking some comfort from the governor’s race, with Steve Hilton holding a lead over career politician Xavier Becerra. But Hilton’s vote is far less than Becerra’s vote plus the votes for Democrat runners-up, including billionaire Tom Steyer, who sits in third place.

California Secretary of State Weber previously made headlines in 2010 when Kamala Harris “lost on election night, but won three weeks later” after the state counted new ballots several weeks after election day.

CBS News fired longtime “60 Minutes” anchor Scott Pelley after he publicly attacked new leadership in front of staff, marking a dramatic shift at the legacy news program.

The termination follows Pelley’s confrontation with Nick Bilton, a tech journalist and filmmaker appointed to overhaul “60 Minutes” amid poor ratings and integrity concerns. When Bilton introduced himself at a staff meeting, Pelley accused him of “murdering” the show and claimed incoming executive Bari Weiss — former New York Times editor and founder of The Free Press — had “no qualifications.”

“YOU HIJACKED MY FIRST MEETING WITH STAFF TO DISPARAGE ME, MY QUALIFICATIONS, AND MY INTENTIONS WITH REMARKABLE INCIVILITY AND CONTEMPT.”

Bilton’s termination letter, obtained after the incident, stated Pelley “rejected” private conversation and chose “ambush instead.” The firing came after CBS had already removed the show’s executive producer, her deputy, and two correspondents — changes Pelley dramatically labeled “Black Thursday.”

Pelley’s outburst targeted Weiss, who critics claim is remaking “60 Minutes” with a right-wing agenda. Weiss is pro-LGBT, pro-choice, and self-described center-left — hardly a conservative fire-breather. Her Free Press has become one of the most successful independent journalism ventures in America.

“I meant what I said in my letter last week to the 60 Minutes team: joining 60 Minutes is the honor of my career,” Bilton wrote. “Yesterday’s performative display of hostility enacted in front of the staff instead of in a civil, private conversation demonstrated that you have no interest in contributing to the future success of the show.”

The letter continued: “Your antipathy to the future of the show has come through loud and clear. And I have heard you. I therefore write on behalf of CBS News, Inc. to inform you that your employment with CBS is terminated for cause effective immediately.“

Pelley’s firing exposes the left’s institutional panic as legacy media loses its grip. Democrats thought they controlled the media fortress — “60 Minutes” above all. Now that preserve has been breached, and the narrative of “objective journalism” is collapsing with it.

CBS appointed Bilton to address both ratings decline and journalistic integrity problems at the program. Pelley’s defiance — knowing he’d likely be fired — was a bid for martyrdom, not principle.

The shake-up at “60 Minutes” follows a broader pattern: institutional control the left considered permanent is now unraveling across American media.

The House votes Wednesday on a war powers resolution to halt U.S. military action against Iran — and Speaker Mike Johnson may not have the votes to stop it.

A handful of Republicans signal they’re ready to join Democrats in ending the three-month war that has cost American taxpayers over $100 billion and sent gas prices soaring.

“This reckless and costly war of choice needs to end today.”

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., said Democrats need just a few GOP votes to kill the war — and mounting frustration suggests they may get them.

Johnson tried to prevent this moment two weeks ago, abruptly shutting down floor action when the resolution was on the verge of approval. But opposition has only grown as Trump struggles to negotiate a quick resolution.

It’s the fourth time the House has tried to curb the Iran war. The Senate advanced its own war powers resolution last month when four GOP senators broke ranks with the Republican president.

Each vote has drawn more support as political unease swells.

Trump campaigned on ending U.S. entanglements abroad and focusing on domestic issues — but the Iran war has shifted attention back to the Middle East just as midterm elections loom.

Johnson insisted Trump remains “laser focused” on the domestic front. The speaker said he spent three hours at the White House this week as Trump calls on allies to help reopen the Strait of Hormuz for commerce.

Since the U.S. joined Israel in launching Feb. 28 strikes on Iran, gasoline prices have jumped, adding to inflationary pressure. Iran has been able to interrupt shipping through the Strait of Hormuz — a vital channel for a large segment of the world’s oil, natural gas, and fertilizer.

“The entire world has an interest in the Strait of Hormuz being reopened for commerce. That’s what he’s working on.”

A ceasefire was declared in April, but it remains uneasy. Talks for a durable end have dragged, complicated by Israel’s broadening war with Iran-backed Hezbollah militants in Lebanon. Military strikes between the U.S. and Iran continue to flare.

The war powers resolution would not immediately stop the war, but it would provide a symbolic — if not legal — step against further military action.

If approved, it goes to the Senate, where four Republicans last month joined Democrats in advancing a similar measure. The Senate has yet to take a final vote.

The House also votes Wednesday on a Democrat-led effort to authorize U.S. support for Ukraine’s military operations against Russia and on another war powers resolution to block U.S. action in Lebanon.

Under the war powers act, the White House has a 60-day window to seek approval from Congress for military action. The administration has indicated that because a ceasefire has been declared in Iran, hostilities have ceased.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent shut down Sen. Ron Wyden with a single mention of the Oregon Democrat’s son — and his documented relationship with sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

The exchange occurred during Bessent’s confirmation hearing before the Senate Finance Committee. Wyden, the committee’s ranking Democrat, had been pressing Bessent on tax policy when the nominee turned the tables.

“Senator, I’d rather not discuss family members — unless you’d like me to bring up your son Adam’s meetings with Jeffrey Epstein.”

Wyden went silent. The hearing room tensed. The Democrat from Oregon offered no response.

Adam Wyden, a hedge fund manager, reportedly met with Epstein in 2016 in Manhattan to discuss business, according to flight logs and financial records reviewed by federal investigators. The meetings occurred years after Epstein’s 2008 conviction for soliciting prostitution from a minor — and years before his 2019 arrest on federal sex trafficking charges.

The younger Wyden runs ADW Capital Partners, a New York-based investment firm. Public records show Epstein held stakes in several financial entities with ties to Manhattan hedge funds during that period.

Bessent’s comment was brief but direct. Wyden, known for aggressive questioning of Republican nominees, moved on to his next line of inquiry without addressing the Epstein reference.

The Epstein network has been a recurring issue for powerful figures on both sides of the aisle. Flight logs, financial documents, and witness testimony have implicated dozens of elites in connection with the convicted sex offender.

Sen. Wyden’s office did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Neither did Adam Wyden’s firm.

Bessent was ultimately confirmed by the Senate Finance Committee and is expected to be approved by the full Senate this week.

DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin told a House Homeland Security Committee hearing Wednesday that a primary border wall from the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf of America will be finished by “this time next year.”

“We are on track to have the primary wall done, completed from the Pacific to the Gulf of America this time next year,” Mullin said. “We’ll have all contracts out by the end of this month. And we’re having great progress.”

“We are on track to have the primary wall done from the Pacific to the Gulf of America this time next year.”

Mullin explained cartels learned how to cut and breach sections of the border wall — forcing the need for a secondary barrier to back up the primary wall.

“So we’re putting 150 foot some places, sometimes smaller than that, for a secondary wall that they got to go over, plus a smart wall, which will tell us approximately how many people are there,” he added. “The smart wall is pretty impressive. We can put a drone in the sky to immediately keep eyes on them.”

“We are on track to have the primary wall done from the Pacific to the Gulf of America this time next year. This is the primary wall. We also have to push out a secondary wall because the cartels and criminals have been going in… pic.twitter.com/6Htgq31HI4

Mullin said the second wall barrier should be complete by the summer of 2028.

Under the Biden administration, Border Patrol saw a daily average of 5,110 illegal migrants cross the border. Under President Trump’s second term, illegal border crossings fell to historic lows — and the GOP-led “Big Beautiful Bill” unlocked funding for enhanced security.

The routine hearing turned contentious when Rep. Shri Thanedar (D-MI) accused Mullin of spreading “bigoted and racist words” on social media, promoting “great replacement theory.”

“It’s interesting how you make those claims and give no facts, but yet your party’s the one that’s supporting the guy that’s got a Nazi tattoo on his chest in Maine,” Mullin shot back.

“There [are] no facts. You throw out nationalism and Nazism, and that’s exactly what causes the hatred and violence that happens to our officers every single day, and you should be ashamed of using that,” Mullin fired.

CMS published a final rule Monday scrapping the Biden administration’s Increasing Organ Transplant Access (IOTA) Model, which mandated hospitals consider race, ethnicity, and “equity” when deciding who receives kidneys.

“Allocation and transplantation decisions should be made based on objective and measurable medical criteria… and should not be made on the basis of race.”

The Trump CMS rule, set to take effect July 1, 2026, came after America First Legal and others argued transplant decisions “should remain grounded in objective medical criteria.”

The Biden rule encouraged hospitals to “identify disparities among racial and demographic groups, develop Health Equity Plans, conduct resource gap analyses, establish equity-focused goals, and implement targeted interventions designed to preference selected populations,” AFL stated.

AFL attorney Megan Redshaw called the move a restoration of “a transplant system grounded in medical need and clinical urgency.”

“Life-saving transplant decisions should be guided by medical criteria and clinical urgency — not race,” Redshaw said.

The Biden rule also paid hospitals to do more transplants while penalizing those not meeting its specifications — tying “institutional revenue to transplant counts” in a system “already marred by ethical failures, oversight breakdowns, and documented patient-safety concerns,” AFL noted.

The policy stemmed from Biden’s 2021 executive order “Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Through the Federal Government,” which forced racial preferences across federal programs — from business and housing to health care.

Biden’s HHS even suggested the necessity of “racial concordance” between health care workers and patients — the theory that health outcomes worsen when doctor and patient races differ, creating a backdoor racial quota system for the medical profession.

The Southern Poverty Law Center used donor money to pay Ku Klux Klan members $1,200 per month to remain with the racist organization despite their pleas to leave, according to a superseding DOJ indictment filed Tuesday.

The new charges expand on an April indictment that hit the SPLC with 11 counts of fraud related to allegedly making fraudulent payments to extremist groups as part of a supposedly “covert” informant scheme.

Two KKK members — identified as F-31 and F-32 — “feared for their safety from other Klan members and wanted out of the movement,” according to the filing. F-32 reached out to the SPLC after seeing media coverage about how the organization had previously “helped an individual leave an extremist organization.”

“ENCOURAGED F-31 AND F-32 TO STAY IN THE MOVEMENT AND OFFERED TO PAY THEM A $1,200.00 MONTHLY SALARY AS WELL AS TO PAY FOR EXPENSES AS INCURRED.”

Rather than help them exit, an SPLC employee “encouraged F-31 and F-32 to stay in the movement and offered to pay them a $1,200.00 monthly salary as well as to pay for expenses as incurred,” the DOJ alleged. After being “financially backed by the SPLC to do so,” the two KKK members “agreed to remain in the movement.”

The SPLC then allegedly created fake employment records, telling F-31 and F-32 to claim they worked for “Rare Books” helping college students research essays. “Neither F-31 nor F-32 ever researched or wrote any essays for any students, college or otherwise,” the indictment reads.

Per the DOJ, the alleged payment scheme “resulted in F-31 and F-32 being put in the type of dangerous situations that F-32 sought SPLC’s help to get away from in the first place.” The two used donor money to attend “extremist rallies in multiple states.”

The DOJ claimed the SPLC’s financial activities led to F-31 “rising from merely a group member to a leadership role within an extremist group” where the individual “recruited new members using donors’ money.”

F-32 similarly used donor funds to recruit new members. One SPLC employee even knew that F-32 “used donors’ money to purchase material to make Ku Klux Klan garments for others,” according to the indictment.

The DOJ alleged the SPLC “reimbursed” both F-31 and F-32 “with donor money for all expenses they incurred for cross-burning events to include the wood and fuel used.”

The SPLC also allegedly deployed similar tactics with a separate individual identified as “F-30” — who “led the National Socialist Party of America, was a member of the Ku Klux Klan, and was the leader of a faction of the Aryan Nations.” The SPLC allegedly paid F-30 more than $70,000 in donor funds from 2010-2016 to stay in the radical group, with F-30 using these funds to “travel to” and “host” extremist rallies, recruit new members, and “donate money to leaders of other extremist organizations.”

The SPLC pleaded not guilty to the charges brought in April. The case is currently being litigated in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Alabama Northern Division.

Former National Security Adviser John Bolton told Newsmax on Wednesday the United States could use military force to ensure commercial access through the Strait of Hormuz while maintaining economic pressure on Iran.

Speaking on “Bianca Across the Nation,” Bolton said the Trump administration has options to counter any Iranian efforts to restrict maritime traffic through the strategic waterway.

“I think it’s legitimate for the U.S. to use military force to open the strait for commerce from the Gulf Arab states.”

Bolton argued that maintaining access for Gulf Arab states while continuing restrictions on Iran would increase energy supplies and help reduce costs for consumers.

“Let their oil and natural gas get out, let their other products get out, keep the blockade against Iran, keep the pressure on Iran financially,” he said.

The Strait of Hormuz carries a significant share of globally traded oil and liquefied natural gas. Concerns about shipping through the waterway have periodically rattled energy markets amid tensions between Iran and Western nations.

Iran on Tuesday stopped communicating with mediators about extending a ceasefire in the war with the U.S. and Israel, according to reports from two semiofficial Iranian news agencies.

President Donald Trump disputed the claim and said talks were continuing.

“The conversations between us have been going on continuously, including four days ago, three days ago, two days ago, one day ago, and today,” Trump said in a social media post. “Where they lead, one never knows, but as I told Iran, ‘It’s time, one way or another, for you to make a Deal.'”

Bolton said maintaining access for Gulf Arab states while continuing restrictions on Iran would “maybe not full pre-war production out, but a lot from the Arab states that could lower the price of oil internationally, lower the price at the pump in the U.S.”

Bolton, a longtime Iran hawk who served as national security adviser during Trump’s first term, has consistently advocated a hard-line approach toward Tehran.
