On Thursday night after the Democrat National Convention, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp (R-GA) took to the airwaves on Sean Hannity’s prime-time Fox News show, and the conversation made headlines after Kemp issued a surprising statement regarding the election.

In a pivot from his previous public disagreements with former President Donald Trump, the Georgia governor officially endorsed the former president for the 2024 election. This marked a significant turnaround in a relationship that was once fraught with public disputes and disagreements.

“Well, Sean, look, we gotta win. We gotta win from the top of the ticket on down,” Kemp said on Fox News. “I’ve been saying consistently for a long time, we cannot afford another four years of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, and I think Kamala Harris and Tim Walz could be even worse. So we need to send Donald Trump back to the White House.”

“We need to retake the Senate. We need to hold the House. We need to hold our legislative majorities that we have in the great state of Georgia. And it takes hard work, that’s what we’ve been doing. And it takes hard work, that’s what we’ve been doing.”

For Kemp, the endorsement may help mend fences within his party and solidify his position by aligning with Trump’s still-powerful base. For Trump, receiving support from a one-time adversary could enhance his credibility and demonstrate his ability to unify the party’s various factions.

According to a source close to the matter who spoke to Politico, Trump apparently approved of Kemp’s recent appearance on Sean Hannity’s show. This nod of approval from Trump led to a notable shift in their relationship, signaling a newfound camaraderie as they gear up for the upcoming election cycle.

Trump wrote on Truth Social, “Thank you to #BrianKempGA for all of your help and support in Georgia, where a win is so important to the success of our Party and, most importantly, our Country. I look forward to working with you, your team, and all of my friends in Georgia to help MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Once political foes, Trump and Georgia’s Governor Kemp are burying the hatchet as the 2024 elections loom. The two have had a rocky relationship, largely due to Kemp’s refusal to back Trump’s bid to contest the 2020 election results. Former President Donald Trump scorched Democrat Illinois Governor JB Pritzker during a rally at the North Carolina Aviation Museum & Hall of Fame on Wednesday. Speaking behind bulletproof glass, Trump derided Pritzker for his comments during Tuesday night’s Democrat National Convention.

“Donald Trump thinks we should trust him on the economy because he claims to be very rich,” said Pritzker. “Take it from an actual billionaire, Trump is rich in only one thing: stupidity.” A member of the affluent Pritzker family, he is known for his ownership of the Hyatt hotel chain and has been serving as the 43rd governor of Illinois since 2019.

“Illinois, I don’t know how it continues; you have this guy, Pritzker,” Trump said on Wednesday. “I don’t know, he’s too busy eating. He wants to eat all the time. Would you like a hamburger? How many do you want—five!”

“Would you like a hamburger? Yeah, okay? I’ll have five burgers, please.” He paused, letting the laughter subside.  “Who the hell orders five burgers?”

Democrats, including Pritzker, are likely to continue their critique of Trump’s economic and political ideologies at the DNC. Horse traders betting on who will win the White House in November haven’t liked what they’ve seen so far at the DNC this week. That’s according to online political betting markets, which are trending back in favor of former President Trump.

At Polymarket, where bettors can stake wages on whether Trump or Vice President Kamala Harris will win the election, Trump now carries a lead of 52% to 47%, a turnaround from pre-DNC figures showing him trailing Harris 48% to 52%, respectively. The change is a five-point increase in support for Trump and a corresponding four-point decrease for Harris, an overall nine-point swing that is a remarkable indictment of how the market is judging this week’s liberal spectacle in Chicago. Over $681 million has been staked on the betting site.

“You guys sent the Calvary in for you guys for your protection But the people of Chicago don’t see that on a day-to-day basis. What are you guys gonna do to stop the bloodshed in our community?” Jones asked.

They’re not even getting a chance to grow up,” Monee Jacobs told Fox News on Monday. “I’ll never know what it feels like to have a grandchild from him [Jeremy]. We’re losing our future… What is it going to take for you to step in and do what you’re supposed to do to protect the community? You’re not doing it because, if you were, we would have answers about everything.”

“I’m angry, but when I call, I try to be humble… You have to still talk to them with respect. They don’t give that to me. You don’t even call me to update me about anything. I think that’s unfair,” she said. “The story you give me is not the right story because I know my son like we know him, and you can’t tell me what you told me and think that I’m just going to let that go, because that’s not what happened, and I know you know more, but you don’t call me to update me about anything, and I think it’s unfair that I have to keep calling you.”

“But he’s the top case. You told me he’s your priority, but how could you not reach out to me and keep me updated about what you’re finding out?” She continued, “I want to know what they’re going to do to bring justice to the parents who are losing their kids. What are you going to say to us? Well, I’m sorry it’s not working… I need answers.”

“You want me to vote for you? What are you going to do for me? You say what you’re going to do, but when you get in office, do you really do what you said you’re going to do? I don’t think so,” Jacobs finished. “Because this crime has been going on for decades, and it’s getting sickening to watch parents on TV crying about the loss of their child. We have to bury someone that grew inside of you. I never thought the hurt would be this bad. It’s like I lost my mom and my dad. Oh, that was hard. But this was just… it’s too much hurt.”
