CNN host Dana Bash pressed Minnesota Governor Tim Walz over verifiable lies he has told regarding his service record in what was the first interview for Vice President Kamala Harris since she became the de-facto Democratic presidential nominee nearly 40 days ago. Bash also pressed Harris over a number of recent flip-flops on border and energy policy.

Governor Walz has been under in recent weeks due to questions surrounding his military service record. Soldiers from his unit with the Minnesota National Guard have questioned the circumstances surrounding his retirement just before a deployment to Iraq, and have noted that he has misrepresented his rank while on the campaign trail.

The Minnesota National Guard later confirmed that Walz has misrepresented his rank.

Walz  has also claimed to have “carried weapons of war,” during a war despite never having deployed to a combat zone.

“You said that you carried weapons in war, but you have never deployed actually in a war zone. A campaign official said that you misspoke. Did you?” Bash asked.

Walz refused to answer the question directly, instead directing the conversation to the topic of mass shootings. “Well, first of all, I’m incredibly proud. I’ve done 24 years of wearing the uniform of this country. Equally proud of my service in a public school classroom, whether it’s Congress or the governor. My record speaks for itself,” the Minnesota governor said.

“But I think people are coming to get to know me. I speak like they do. I speak candidly. I wear my emotions on my sleeves and I speak especially passionately about our children being shot in schools and around guns. So I think people know me. They know who I am. They know where my heart is and again, my record has been out there for over 40 years to speak for itself,” he continued.

Bash followed up by reiterating her question on the “weapons of war” controversy. “Did you misspeak as the campaign has said?” the CNN host asked.  “Yeah, I said we were talking about, in this case, this was after a school shooting, the ideas of carrying these weapons of war,” Walz replied.

Bash also pressed Walz over his past DUI arrest and inconsistencies regarding his use of IVF.

Elsewhere in the interview, Bash asked Vice President Harris about her past statements on energy, which include support for a ban on fracking and support for the Green New Deal.

“Do you still want to ban fracking?” Bash asked.

“No, and I made that clear on the debate stage in 2020. That I would not ban fracking. As vice president, I did not ban fracking. As president, I will not ban fracking,” Harris replied.

The CNN host followed up by pointing out that Harris vowed to ban fracking while campaigning for president in 2019. “In 2019, I believe, at a town hall, you said, you were asked, would you commit to implementing a federal ban on fracking on your first day in office? And you said,’ there’s no question I’m in favor of banning fracking. So yes.’ So it changed in that campaign?” Bash asked.

“In 2020, I made very clear where I stand. We are in 2024 and I’ve not changed that In 2020, I made very clear where I stand,” the vice president replied, once again disavowing her previous position.

Vice President Kamala Harris delivered yet another one of her signature “word salads” when asked what she would do on day one should she be elected president in November.

In her first interview since becoming the de-facto Democratic Party nominee nearly 40 days ago, Harris sat down with a left-leaning outlet in CNN. The interview has been widely viewed as unusual given the fact that Harris was flanked by her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, meaning that she has yet to sit for a solo interview.

Host Dana Bash began by asking the vice president would she would do in her first day in the Oval Office.

“Well, there are a number of things. I will tell you first and foremost, one of my highest priorities is to do what we can to support and strengthen the middle class. When I look at the aspirations, the goals, the ambitions of the American people, I think that people are ready for a new way forward, in a way that generations of Americans have been fueled by hope and by optimism,” Harris replied without answering the question.

“I think sadly in the last decade we have had in the former president someone who has really been pushing an agenda and an environment that is about diminishing the character and the strength of who we are as Americans, really dividing our nation, and I think people are ready to turn the page on that,” Harris continued.

Bash was eventually forced to once again Harris what she would do on day one, at which point she listed a number of policy goals that would need to pass through Congress.

“Day one, it’s going to be about, one, implementing my plan for what I call an opportunity economy. I’ve already laid out a number of proposals in that regard, which include what we’re going to do to bring down the cost of everyday goods, what we’re going to do to invest in families, for example extending the child tax credit to $6,000 for families for the first year of their child’s life,” Harris answered.

While the Harris-Walz Campaign has yet to release a formal policy plan despite early voting starting in just a few weeks, Harris has released a number of vague policy goals, including price-fixing on food items and $25,000 tax credits for “first generation home buyers.”

Former President Donald Trump discussed the rising political profile of his youngest son, Barron, in a new interview with Breitbart News.

In a sit-down interview at his Mar-A-Lago estate, Trump credited Barron with setting up his recent interview with Adin Ross, one of the world’s most popular live-streaming whose audience almost exclusively consists of younger voters.

“My son, he’s a great kid — a tall kid — he’s a great kid,” Trump told Breitbart News. “He said ‘Dad, you got to do Adin Ross.’ Barron is the one that pressed me to do it. That’s a big deal, isn’t it? The platform did over 100 million hits in one day.”

Trump’s sit-down with Ross — which racked up tens of millions of views across all platforms — began with the former president describing it as “the most important interview I’ve ever done.”

The Daily Mail recently reported on how Barron has taken a more active role in setting up interviews for his father. The piece focused on Barron’s relationship with conservative influencer Bo Loudoun, 17, who is credited with increasing Barron’s political engagement.

Vice President Kamala Harris delivered multiple vague, rambling answers in the brief snippets of what will be her first major interview since becoming the de-facto Democratic nominee, which is set to air at 9 p.m. Eastern Time on Thursday.

Harris was joined by her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, for her first interview in more than 30 days. The interview was conducted by CNN’s Dana Bash, who has made a number of pro-Biden-Harris and anti-Trump statements in the past.

Leading Trump advisor Jason Miller has reported that the pre-taped interview will be just 18 minutes long.

In an early preview of the interview released by CNN, Harris was asked how she will seek to differentiate herself from her own administration and its policies. Harris — who has yet to release a formal policy platform — has turned her back on a number of Biden-Harris Administration policies in recent weeks, including electric vehicle mandates and opposition to a border wall.

“Generally speaking, how should voters look at some of the changes that you’ve made, that you’ve explained some of here, in your policy?” Bash asked.

“Dana, I think the most important and most significant aspect of my policy perspective and decisions is my values have not changed. You mentioned the Green New Deal. I have always believed, and I have worked on it, that the climate crisis is real, that it is an urgent matter to which we should apply metrics that include holding ourselves to deadlines around time,” Harris replied.

“We did that with the Inflation Reduction Act. We have set goals for the United States of America and by extension the globe around when we should meet certain standards for reduction of greenhouse gas emissions as an example.”

Harris also committed to appointing “a Republican” to her cabinet, though she did not elaborate further.

The Democratic Party has embraced a number of former Republican officials in recent years, mostly from the Bush Administration. After comparing President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney to Adolf Hitler for more than a decade, the party has embraced the Cheney family in recent years.

Liz Cheney served as a “Republican” representative for the partisan January 6 Committee, which was formed in defiance of House rules. Cheney was not supported by Republican voters, however, as evidenced by her crushing defeat to current U.S. Rep. Harriet Hageman (R-WY) in the GOP primary.

CNN contributor Scott Jennings poked fun at Vice President Kamala Harris over the campaign’s decision to bring her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, along for her long awaited interview with CNN.

After more than 30 days, the Harris Campaign announced Tuesday that Harris and Walz have sat for a pre-taped interview with the left-leaning network. The Trump Campaign and conservative critics have long criticized Harris over her refusal to speak with the press or sit for an interview, pointing to the fact that Trump has done multiple long-form podcasts, interviews and press conferences since Harris became the de-facto nominee.

During an on-air segment with Anderson Cooper, CNN’s Scott Jennings mocked Harris over her reluctance to sit for an interview with Dana Bash, who has referred to former President Donald Trump as a “sexist,” amplified the Russian collusion hoax and has praised the Biden-Harris Administration on numerous occasions.

“Scott, it’s the first time the vice president going to be sitting down for an interview. She’s doing it with her vice-presidential candidate, Tim Walz. Do you think that blunts attacks from Republicans or is the line now going to be, well, why isn’t she doing it by yourself?” Cooper asked.

“Yes, I do think people are going to bring that up,” Jennings replied.

“Look, I have great confidence and Dana and CNN to do this. I think it’s incredibly weak, weak sauce to show up with your running mate. The fact that they don’t have enough confidence in her to let her sit herself the actual top of the ticket and do a single interview,” he continued. Jennings further speculated that the decision points to a growing lack of confidence in Harris’ abilities despite consistent efforts to paint the picture of enthusiasm behind the campaign.

“So yes, I think Republicans are going to think it’s pretty weak to show up with effectively someone to take up half the time,” he said.

In a follow-up X post, Jennings mocked Harris for bringing her “emotional support animal” to the interview.

According to a report from Politico, some Harris staffers are concerned that sending either Harris or Walz out for a solo interview could prove disastrous due to a lack of a definitive policy platform. Former President Donald Trump called out an NBC reporter in front of a live audience of supporters earlier this week, accusing the network of ignoring the real issues Americans care about. This took place during a public event where Trump was discussing the state of the nation and his 2024 run.

Trump asked the reporter, “Who are you with?” The reporter replied, “NBC with the full team.” That was all Trump needed to launch into a blistering critique of the network’s coverage. “NBC? NBC fake news. Tell me, have you done a story on Afghanistan today?” Trump asked, clearly irked. “No, have you done that story, NBC? You know, the press never talks about Afghanistan. The most embarrassing moment in history. No, but have you done the story?”

The former president didn’t hold back as he accused NBC of turning a blind eye to the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal, which he called “the most embarrassing moment in history.” He then pointed out that it was the third anniversary of the event and asked if the network had even bothered to cover it.

“Today is the third anniversary of Afghanistan. Do you know that? No, no, no, no. You know that,” Trump continued, as the reporter struggled to respond. “I just left Arlington National Cemetery. Do you know that? We buried people, we honored people in Arlington, and the press doesn’t even cover it because they’re fake news and they should be ashamed of themselves.”

Vice President Kamala Harris has finally agreed to sit for her first sit-down interview since becoming the de-facto Democratic presidential nominee following President Biden’s unprecedented decision to suspend his re-election campaign after the primary process had concluded.

The Trump Campaign has repeatedly attacked Harris over her refusal to sit for an interview. In the 39 days since she became the de-facto nominee, Harris has yet to sit for a formal interview or take questions at a press conference. In early August, the Harris Campaign did say she would be sitting for an interview by the end of the month, though the campaign had not provided additional details for weeks.

On Tuesday, Harris confirmed that she will be sitting for an interview with CNN, a left-leaning network whose hosts and reporters have repeatedly expressed anti-Trump opinions.

Harris will not be alone, however, as she will be joined by Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, her running mate.

Social media users responded with outrage and ridicule upon learning that after more than a month, Harris appears incapable of speaking to the media on her own, even when the host has referred to her political opponent as a “sexist,” urged the Supreme Court to disqualify Trump from the ballot, and praised the Biden-Harris Administration, as Dana Bash has.

“Kamala Harris bringing Walz to her first interview is like the young job candidates who bring their parents to their first interview,” said best-selling author Carol Roth. “I wouldn’t hire either.”

Fox News hist Joe Concha question why the Harris-Walz interview is being pre-taped as opposed to a live discussion. “And why isn’t Harris doing this solo? Dana Bash will conduct the interview, the same ‘anchor’ who insisted recently that Harris wasn’t the Border Czar,” Concha wrote in an X post.

“The fact that there is so much internal turmoil over doing A SINGLE INTERVIEW is itself deeply revealing. This is not a ‘big decision.’ It exposes their lack of confidence in her and is making something that should be routine into a high stakes event,” wrote veteran political commentator Marc Thiessen.

Veteran legal reporter Julie Kelly — who has covered the Trump trials, January 6 prosecutions and other instances of Democrat-led politically motivated law fare in-depth — broke down Biden DOJ-appointed Special Counsel Jack Smith’s latest indictment against former President Donald Trump.

The new indictment comes just weeks after the Supreme Court ruled that U.S. presidents have immunity relating to official conduct while in office. A separate ruling neutralized the Biden DOJ’s use of an obscure felony for “obstruction of an official proceeding,” which had for years been used against January 6 defendants, resulting in lengthy prison terms for simple trespassing violations. The obstruction of an official proceeding charge also formed half of Smith’s case against Trump relating to the former president’s objections to the 2020 election results.

The Merck Garland-appointed special counsel has argued that Trump illegally conspired to overturn the election results, despite the fact that there is constitutional and historical precedence for the move.

With his January 6 case effectively dead, Smith on Tuesday announced that he will be filing a superseding indictment that covers much of the same conduct. The new indictment contains some notable deviations from the initial January 6 indictment and appears designed to sidestep the Supreme Court’s latest rulings, Kelly explained in an X thread.

Kelly first noted that former deputy Attorney General Jeff Clark was no longer listed as a “co-conspirator.” Clark has also been charged by Democrat prosecutors in Arizona and Georgia for endorsing a constitutionally protected objection to the election results. “SCOTUS determined Trump’s interactions with his own DOJ clearly represented ‘official acts’ and protected by presidential immunity,” Kelly wrote. “Where does Jeff Clark go to get his reputation back?”

“Jack Smith also had to present his case to a new grand jury in DC. SCOTUS further ruled immunized conduct could not be used during any phase of the investigation/prosecution including GJ proceedings,” Kelly further explained. “Of course it’s a layup getting an indictment against a Republican in DC.”

Smith also appears to have ignored key facets of the Supreme Court’s recent rulings in his latest indictment. The “obstruction of an official proceeding charge” remains in the indictment and forms the basis of Smith’s case “Smith does not appear to address the document/evidence impairment requirement held by SCOTUS.”

Smith’s new case has no chance of going to trial before Election Day, though the Biden DOJ has vowed to work on the cases through January, even if Trump wins in November.

An additional indictment filed by Smith involving Trump’s alleged mishandling of classified documents was tossed by U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon, who argued that Smith’s appointment was unconstitutional.

Independent presidential candidate Cornel West has exposed a desperate attempt by the Democrat Party to bribe him into dropping out of the 2024 race. The scholar and activist revealed during an interview that Democrat leaders reached out to him with offers of positions and resources if he would back down, particularly in support of Kamala Harris’s campaign.

West, who has been a vocal critic of the Democrat Party, did not back down when describing the Democrats’ efforts. “A number of them reached out just saying I need to get on the bandwagon,” West said. He added that they framed it as a “historic moment” for a Black woman to lead the nation, but West was not swayed by their appeals. “You can offer resources or position or what have you—that’s not what I’m all about.”

The Democrats’ offer, according to West, wasn’t merely symbolic. While he didn’t disclose all the specifics, he hinted at substantial incentives. But West rejected the offer outright, saying, “That’s not the game I play… I’ve got to hold on to some integrity and honesty.” He also criticized the Democrat Party for being “saturated with money, manipulation, and transaction.” According to West, the party’s focus on superficial glitz and status has left them out of touch with the real struggles facing ordinary Americans, particularly marginalized communities.

“The Democratic Party is revealing itself even in this moment of frenzy as just so hypocritical,” West said while lambasting the party for its failure to address pressing issues such as poverty, mass incarceration, and police brutality. “We haven’t even got to Haiti and Sudan and Congo yet,” West said.

West’s comments come at a time when the Democrat Party is increasingly being scrutinized for its handling of the upcoming election. West, who has been fighting legal battles to stay on ballots across the country, is not alone in facing opposition from the Democratic establishment. “Their big theme is democracy, yet they, Jill Stein, even RFK—all they are doing is trying to stop people from having more choices,” he explained. Just this weekend, The Michigan Court of Claims ruled in favor of West in his fight to appear on the state’s ballot.

The decision, announced Sunday, cleared the way for him to appear on Michigan’s 2024 general election ballot, dealing a major setback to the Michigan Democrat Party’s efforts to block his candidacy. The lawsuit, spearheaded by the Michigan Democrats and the party’s chair Lavora Barnes, sought to prevent West and his running mate, Melina Abdullah, from being listed on the ballot. Democrats argued that West had failed to meet the legal requirements for ballot access, including deficiencies in his affidavit of identity (AOI). However, the court decisively ruled that West and Abdullah were not required to file AOIs, invalidating the Democrat Party’s challenge.
