Alan Jackson has been one of the biggest stars in country music for decades.

Now his future in music is coming into focus.

And Alan Jackson had fans fearing the worst after he gave this tragic update.

Alan Jackson extends his farewell tour because of a medical condition

Country music legend Alan Jackson has been a fan favorite since he burst onto the scene with his 1990 debut album Here in the Real World.

He embarked on his farewell tour, Last Call: One More for the Road Tour, in 2022.

Now, he’s adding more concerts to his tour to give fans one last chance to see him live.

“Fans know when they come to my shows, they’re going to hear the songs that made me who I am — the ones they love,” Jackson said in a statement.

They can expect to hear classic hits like Don’t Rock the Jukebox, Gone Country, and Little Bitty.

“I’ve been touring for over 30 years — my daughters are all grown, we have one grandchild and one on the way. I’m enjoying spending more time at home,” Jackson continued. “But my fans always show up to have a good time, and I’m going to give them the best show I can for this ‘Last Call.’”

Jackson added tour dates in Orlando, Boston, Oklahoma City, Tampa, Fort Worth, Milwaukee, Kansas City, Salt Lake City, Grand Rapids, and Fayetteville, Arkansas.

The 65-year-old country star went public in 2021 about his battle with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a condition that affects his motor and sensory nerves.

“I have this neuropathy and neurological disease,” Jackson told the Today show in 2021. “It’s genetic that I inherited from my daddy. There’s no cure for it, but it’s been affecting me for years. And it’s getting more and more obvious.”

Jackson said that he’s “self-conscious” about it because it affects his ability to perform on stage.

“I know I’m stumbling around stage now,” Jackson explained. “I’m having a little trouble balancing, even in front of the microphone. I just feel very uncomfortable.”

Alan Jackson still wants to make music

Jackson’s touring days might be coming to a close, but the Country Music Hall of Famer wants to keep making music.

“I’m always scribbling down ideas and thinking about melodies . . . I feel like there’ll be some more music to come, yes,” Jackson said last year on his daughter’s podcast. “I may not have toured much, but again . . . like I said, the creative part jumps out every now and then.”

The songwriting process is more fulfilling than touring for Jackson.

“It’s like, you can be a singer and go out and tour . . . but it’s kind of like you’re just doing the same thing over and over,” Jackson explained.

“When you make an album, or especially when you write a lot of the songs for it, that’s creating something,” Jackson continued. “It’s a challenge, so it keeps you interested a little more. If I didn’t write, I think I would’ve gotten bored just singing a long time ago.”

Fans can still look forward to more great country music from Alan Jackson.
